Bluebonnets were prolific in the spring of 2010. The weather conditions were just right for a bumper crop.

One of the trails in Mercer Arboretum leads to this great pond with Chinese Tea House. It is very relaxing and they have several benches around the lake for people to sit and rest. (1 comments)

I happened to notice this sunset before I went to see "Contagion"at the movie theater. With the drought here in Texas it is a rarity to see clouds anymore, but when they are here they create some beautiful sunsets.

After being so dry here in the Houston area, it rained for a full day last week. This cute little flower popped up on Sunday. It appears to be symmetrically perfect.
I think this is called a balloon flower. I took the picture on a weekend that I was taking pictures of trains in Texas.
This little batch of flowers also bloomed after the rain last week. I believe it is a portulaca.

Once every three or four months I go to Mercer Arboretum they always have something blooming every month of the year. This water lily is one of the first things you see after you enter the Arboretum grounds.
This double layered orange flower really caught my eye.
I wish I could grow beautiful deep pink flowers like this. What a beauty!
One of the improvements at the Arboretum is the lake has been cleaned out, and a new Chinese tea house with benches has been constructed. They also added a peninsula that extends into the middle of the lake. The (5 comments)
