tomball real estate: Gorgeous Texas Wildflowers -- Part 1 - 04/08/10 11:50 AM
These pictures are from a day trip I took with my husband on Good Friday.  The wildflowers were just beautiful that day.  Here are some of my favorite shots.

I took a field biology class in high school and we had to identify 100 flowers.  I was told the purple flowers above were called spider warts.

I don't think I've ever seen these cute little yellow flowers before.  They seem very delicate.

This landscape was just begging for a picture.

I have only seen this kind of flower once before and I took a picture then, too.  They … (6 comments)

tomball real estate: Stress Free Lunch -- With The Ducks! - 03/27/10 11:35 PM
Once a week or so I go visit the ducks behind the office building off of Highway 249 in Tomball, TX.  The office building has a lake behind it.  A dozen or so ducks live there and it is a great way to unwind at lunch to go and watch the ducks at their private lake.

This time I remembered the bread that I had promised them.

Here some of them have realized I was passing out free food and were interested.

The feathers on the white one below look so soft and brilliantly white.

While most … (11 comments)

tomball real estate: Vintage Park -- Houston, Texas - 03/27/10 11:11 PM
I have been driving by this adorable retail center for about a year now and meant to stop by, so when I was directed to a store called "All About Feet" I was excited to go to the retail center and see it up close.

This cute collection of stores is next to HEB at Highway 249 and Louetta Rd in Houston, TX.  The architecture reminds me of buildings I have seen in Venice.

There are also many restaurants that have outdoor seating like you see in Paris.

The fountain is a great touch in this courtyard and … (4 comments)

tomball real estate: The Wild Side of Tomball, TX - 03/15/10 06:09 PM
Here are some pictures I took of the Tomball Wild Life at dusk on Saturday night.  The goat is so cute.  It has the most adorable little floppy ears.  My sister-in-law has horses, and she also has goats which she says keep the horses company.

This is the view of the sunset from my office.  This was taken on Saturday March 13th.

Now both the goat and the donkey, mule or whatever he is, are both looking into the flash.  They are not trained very well.  But you can see the goat flicking his ears.

Another sunset picture.  … (6 comments)

tomball real estate: All Aboard! Historic Magnolia Rail Road Depot - 03/15/10 05:21 PM
Historic Magnolia Depot.  On the way home from a showing in Waller I happened to notice this sign, stating that the depot was open on Saturday and Sunday from 1 - 5pm and thought I'd take a look.

The first thing you see before you go in is the caboose and this cute little gate.

On the inside they have some nice train artifacts, including the RR Crossing sign below.

The woodwork is just lovely.  The scallop trim makes me think of Switzerland for some reason.

Here is the official Historical Medallion from the State of Texas Historical Commission.

tomball real estate: How Can You Help Save the Planet? Earth Hour! - 03/14/10 06:23 PM
How Can You Help Save the Planet?  Just participate in Earth Hour on March 27th from 8:30pm - 9:30pm.  From 8:30 - 9:30pm that night, turn off all non-essential lights and electrical products.  This would be a great time to go around your house and unplug all those items that you leave plugged in all the time, but don't use very often.  Things that are plugged in, use electricity even when the product is not turned on -- so unplugging them will not only save electricity, but also will save you money.

tomball real estate: Lone Star College Tomball-- Spring Fling 2010 - 03/12/10 08:30 AM
The Annual Spring Fling was held at Lone Star College -- Tomball campus Thursday March 11th, 2010.  All students and faculty were invited.  The theme this year was western.  There was even a longhorn balloon near the top of the balloon rainbow.

This was the tent for bailing out people put in mock jail.

Below is the saloon (see the cute doors) and the picture posing place.

Here a cowboy is sitting in front of a western landscape on his hay bale.  I think I've been to where the picture was taken, but I can't remember which National Park … (2 comments)

tomball real estate: Looking for a Great Dermatologist? Try Dr. Carr! - 03/12/10 07:54 AM
Wednesday I went for a full body mole check at Spring Dermatology.  Dr. Carr and the staff were so nice and efficient.  For the more information call (832) 717-3376.

And they had some great artwork in their office.  This metal piece below had shiny reflective pieces that looked like copper or bronze.

This is the painting that you first see when you walk into the office.  Very modern.

I liked this collection of 4 mirrors which serve as artwork and decoration at the same time.

This piece of art is across from the reception desk.  It is metallic.

tomball real estate: Please Help Solve the Mystery! - 03/11/10 12:38 PM
Do you know what kind of trees these are?  I have been searching and the closest I can find is pears, crabapples or dogwood.  The first tree is slightly different then the second and third pictures, so it may be two different kinds of trees.

The picture above was taken in Heatherwood Village in Houston, Texas which is adjacent to Loutta Road.  On the other side of Louetta, the city is considered Tomball.

These trees are in Tomball on the side of Loew's in Tomball off of the new FM249.  I acually did a blog last fall about these … (8 comments)

tomball real estate: DiIorio's Vegetable Market -- Hempstead, TX - 03/10/10 03:15 PM
Dilorio's Vegetable Market in Hempstead, Texas is a wonderful place to buy your veggies.

Farm fresh vegetables less than an hour from Houston.  Its a great day trip.

They also have flowering plants, vegetables and herbs for sale if you want to grow your own.

On one wall they have all the beans and rice.  I bought a bag of brown rice there.  It was cheaper than buying it at the grocery store, and I am supporting my local farmers.

Here are the some of the vegetable displays.

Here is what I go for -- the red peppers.  They … (1 comments)
