How To Benefit From Twitter with Zero Effort - 02/28/09 03:09 PM
Great information if you don't already have your AR set up to automatically go to Twitter. Via Steve@ Amazing Video Tours (AmazingVideoTours.com): I can see where Twitter would be a fantastic tool for a Mortgage Lender to use to announce the day to day movement of interest rates and other economic indicators. But I have always wondered how I can use Twitter to benefit my business. Luckily, ActiveRain provided that answer for me! If you have a Twitter account, ActiveRain allows you to "Announce New Blog Posts" on your Twitter feed! Best of all, it's done automatically. You do nothing! The benefit

There's a Diplomatic (Nicer) Way to Say IT! - 02/28/09 03:07 PM
What a great post --- I felt it certainly worthy of a re-blog. Some of the things that I have read on AR have shocked me. I will have to say though, that most of AR content is outstanding. Via Celeste "SALLY" Cheeseman HAWAII Relocations & Real Estate (Century 21 Liberty Homes): We ALL feel the need to express opinions on many subjects. It's human nature.....we all think differently and have different opinions. Regardless if it's political, about something going on around ActiveRain or Localism or just plain views on religion or abortion, the way you are presenting it can make all the difference

My Plan to Change the Real Estate Industry Forever! (Sounds Humble, Right?) - 02/28/09 02:34 PM
I love this idea --- very interesting and I thought worthy of a re-blog. Thanks, Jason. Via Jason Crouch, Broker - Austin Texas Real Estate (512-796-7653) (Austin Texas Homes, LLC): For the past several years, I have had an idea that I think would help to level the playing field a bit for real estate agents in any market. I have shared this with many of my personal clients, but never publicly...until now. Consider this: When you are working with buyer clients, and they are interested in making an offer on a property, you then contact the listing agent to let them

10 Top Ways to Be Disciplined in SC - 02/28/09 02:25 PM
Continuing 10 Top Ways to be Disciplined in SC # 3 Failure to disclose material facts --- A material fact is anything that a reasonable purchaser or seller would consider important in deciding whether to buy or sell or how much to pay or take. A licensee who fails to disclose any material facts concerning a real estate transaction can be disciplined, no matter the instructions of the seller or buyer. Silence, in and of itself, can be considered to be fraud where there is a duty to speak. Real estate licensees have an agency relationship with their clients, with

Misrepresentation - 02/28/09 01:19 PM
Misrepresentation Continuing on discussing SC Real Estate License Law Misrepresentation -- A false representation of a material fact or failure to disclose a known property or transaction defect which would cause the purchaser or seller to suffer damages. Misrepresentations can be made by statements, actions, in-actions and silence. Real estate practitioners must always present a true picture when involved in a real estate transaction. A half-truth can be considered a misrepresentation, because if it is near the truth it will be more likely to be believed by the consumer. Sitting on the Side of the Road - 02/28/09 12:13 PM
Sitting on the Side of the Road Sitting on the side of the road waiting to catch speeding drivers, a state trooper sees a car puttering along at 22 mph. He thinks to himself, "This driver is as dangerous as a speeder!" So, he turns on his lights and pulls the driver over. Approaching the car, he notices that there are five elderly ladies, two in the front seat and three in the back, wide-eyed and white as ghosts. The driver, obviously confused, says to him,. Via Chris Ann Cleland, GRI (Long & Foster): If you are relocating to Virginia from another state, you may be surprised by our annual Safety Inspections for vehicles.
