breast cancer: Cancer Raises Its Ugly Head --Update #3 - 10/28/10 04:54 PM
If you have not been keeping up, you can catch up by reading the posts below: http://mamaliz.onlineaor.com/2010/10/17/cancer-raises-its-ugly-head-again/ http://mamaliz.onlineaor.com/2010/10/19/cancer-raises-its-ugly-head-update/ http://mamaliz.onlineaor.com/2010/10/23/cancer-raises-its-ugly-head-update-2/ Liza is doing very well recovering from the surgery and improves on a daily basis. The pain is more manageable and the doctors have removed two of the three drainage tubes. We continue to wait for test results and the oncologist has ordered more testing to determine the exact chemotherapy mix to provide Liza. Treatments will not begin for about two more weeks giving Liza more time to recover. We continue to appreciate your thoughts,

breast cancer: Breast Cancer Survivor 2-1-0 - 10/10/09 11:34 AM
Breast Cancer Survivor 2-1-0 How many breasts does one really need? Do you need 2? Do you need 1? Do you need 0? Ok, some of you may feel that having 2 breasts is essential to your well being. To me, I feel that it depends on your age, how strongly you will feel about this. I understand that a teenager and a young woman feels that having her 2 breasts is very important. Heaven forbid, that this person has to make a decision about whether or not to keep them. I pray for her that she never has to

Feeling the Wind in Your Hair When is the last time that you have ridden in a convertible with the top down? I put my top down this morning and just let the wind blow through my hair. There is nothing like it --- it gives you the feeling of complete relaxation and freedom. The temperature is in the 80's today with bright sunshine in Charleston, SC --- Wow --- it doesn't get much better than this. For those who may not have read some of my previous blogs, you may not know that I am a breast cancer survivor. Three

breast cancer: Like Mother Like Daughter - 02/02/09 03:43 PM
Like Mother Like Daughter This is one case where a Mother does not want her Daughter to be like her. I was diagnosed 3 years ago with breast cancer. Today, I am doing terrific---my cancer was caught extremely early and I opted to have a double mastectomy so as to hopefully not have to worry about this "monster" again. A couple of weeks ago, my daughter discovered a "lump" (very small one) in one of her breasts. She had the mammogram and ultra sound and the results were that she needed to have a lumpectomy. She had the surgery this

breast cancer: Want to Live? - Personal Story - 10/07/08 02:54 PM
Personal story for you ladies and men:I feel that I would like to share with you the details of my cancer scare----so that it may help or save you or one of your loved ones. Although mammograms are very important - critical- they don't always find the "c" --- I had a suspicious spot on a mammogram which led to a needle biopsy which lead to a lumpectomy --The result of the lumpectomy was that there was something suspicious on the very edge of what was taken out, so the surgeon wanted to go back and get a larger piece. My Husband,
