A phone call from a former client yesterday morning really messed up my day. She wanted to make an offer on a house, but she wasn't sure what time. "Sure, I'll be available," I told her. It meant lots of rearranging and sending my husband and my daughter (associates in my family-run office) out to do things I had originally planned to do, but I was careful all day to stick close to the office for the would-be client. I prepared and printed forms to use in the transaction, I previewed the house she wanted, turned on all the lights in preparation for the showing, researched the history of the house and checked the legal description--all to make the transaction as smooth as possible.

All day, I waited. All day. We finally went to the house at dusk and turned off all of the lights, lights which, I'm sure, created a much better atmosphere for the four additional agents who showed the house yesterday (showings, as evidenced by the new business cards on the kitchen counter). This morning, the customer sent me a text saying they had changed their minds about even seeing the house that yesterday she was sure they wanted to buy!

Leslie's blog helped me recenter my emotions today. Real estate is a tough business, so thanks, Leslie, for your inspirational reminder!

Pain created by holding onto Mistakes:  Pray~ Forgive~ Move On !

Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?

God is quick to forgive us when asked. We do not forgive ourselves or others so easily! Oh The pain created by us. Pray~ Forgive~ Move On ! ~ Leslie Godbold

Leslie Godbold motivational christian speaker , radio personalty and life/ business coach advice on forgiveness, example shown by Jesus

We create high levels of unnecessary pain when we delay in facing a mistake, ours or others. In this article, Let's examine the difficulty in forgiving others.

Forgiving Others

I have been guilty of holding onto pain caused by others. Do we do this trying to continue hurting the other person? Maybe...probably....okay yes!

They did something that caused us pain. We are trying to hurt them as much or more. You may hurt them as much or more than they hurt you but then aren't you just as wrong?  This practice will always hurt you more than they will hurt. So what is the answer?

  • Turn back the clock. You nor I have this ability
  •  Ignore it. You can try to ignore it but it is still inside of you festering and growing even if you pretend otherwise. The festering is turning you into a bitter and different person. So this course of action is damaging you moreso then the other person. The innocent people around you get hurt also!
  • Accept It~ This is the answer!!!!!! Admit it, It was done. The person who was wrong has hopefully apologized for it. Although an apology doesn't really take away your pain , does it? Forgiving isn't about them. It is you releasing the power of the pain. Allowing you and those you have contact with the ability to enjoy life again. With out the baggage and pain caused by others and then multiplied by our reactions!

How did you forgive the hardest pain ever caused to you?

The words in red

"Hi, Honey! " Mom said as she saw me walking toward her. My breath caught in my throat as a rim of tears encircled my eyes. Blinking hard, I struggled to swallow and put on a broad smile as I said, "Well, hi there, Mom! You are looking great! " A few…
