How does a presenter earn the respect of their audience?  Is it appearance, reputation, voice?  What is it that captures your attention and then keeps it? your reputation doesn't precede you, how do you earn it?

I don't know about you....but do you find it just a wee bit irritating whenever you ask some people how they're doing........the answer is "busy"?  How does that make you feel?  Do you know anyone that isn't busy?

I was reading one of  Seth Godin's posts (link at the bottom) about decision making.  He says."First rule of decision making: More time does not create better decisions. Sometimes its a hard nut to swallow, but ultimately isn't that true?  We are paid...exactly what WE think we're worth!  I've never heard it put better!

Ever wonder why there are so many people out there that settle for Average?  I guess it's no surprise, since average is, by definition, the stuff most people want...right? :-) Or maybe not?
Every once in a while...you come across someone who stands for something different.  I mean we all stand for 'something'...by default...if not by intention.   These select few  skate around the edge.....and spin circles around average. They decide to run the risk of being everything.......anything.....but average.

Its Easter morning and I'm lying in bed.......its sooo quiet you could hear a pin drop........I don't hear any giggling, the rustle of little feet, squeals of delight.......This is Second Easter where I have no kids at home. - two have moved out and one is with her dad....and even at that my youngest Rachel is 17.
Memories of Easter past...are floating through my mind. Its funny the things you remember...........One of my favourite memories is an Easter Sunday about 14 years ago.

We're  conditioned to think that our lives revolve around great moments.   Its true isn't it....? So often its not until we look back.......in hindsight - that we see significant moments that went unrecognized......We weren't conscious of their impact because they didn't 'look like' what we thought they would. 
Great moments often catch us unaware because they're often beautifully wrapped in what we think are SMALL moments..........
Conversely - sometimes all the best layed plans and carefully crafted words......still leave us wanting for more..........sometimes what we SAY is not what they HEAR, sometimes what we SAY is not what we MEAN...   … (20 comments)

SIGNS OF OPTIMISM IN FRASER VALLEY REAL ESTATE MARKET (Abbotsford, BC) - 04/04/09 11:45 AM
Fraser Valley REALTORS® credit first-time homebuyers, low interest rates and greater overall confidence in the housing market for an increase in sales in March. The Fraser Valley Real Estate Board reports 1,006 sales were processed in March, reflecting a 24 per cent decrease compared to the 1,315 sales in March of last year, however, a 48 per cent jump from February’s 682 sales.  So I'd say thats pretty darn good news!
March is the first month to surpass one thousand sales in the Fraser Valley since July of last year,reflecting more typical March sales totals last seen in the early 2000s.  Real Estate … (2 comments)

I was just thinking this very thing! How I so wish I could but no longer seem to be able to comment back to every comment left on my post.......And I TOO so appreciate all of them, and most often read them on my Blackberry - but life takes its twists and turns, differing commitments and ever changing priorities and sometimes we just don't get to do ALL the things we'd like to.
