landmark realty: Toronto's ~ The Junction - 01/03/11 02:23 AM

While visiting Toronto this summer I stayed in a B & B in High Park and next to a cool area called "The Junction." In the mid-1850's most of the area was part of the Keele family Carlton Race Course, home of the first Queen's Plate. For a long time it was known as an industrial neighbourhood, where the railways cross; it was also the home to the Ontario Stockyards and many meat packing companies. Kensington Market in Toronto - is an eclectic delight - and where my daughter Rachel lives - although she's been home for a few weeks (Hallelujah) over Christmas she'll be heading back all too soon - and frankly I can't blame her.

Kensington offers pretty much everything you could ask for...cool vintage, retro and classic shops, independent designers, italian bakeries, fish shops, neat cafes and several spice shops. Actually thats what I asked Rach to bring me for a Christmas present - an assortment exotic fresh spices - hand picked!

landmark realty: Toronto's St. Lawrence Market - BuskerFest - 01/03/11 12:28 AM

This last summer I had an opportunity to enjoy Toronto's BuskerFest in the St. Lawrence Market District...(One of the 25 best markets in the world, according to Food & Wine magazine! North America's largest Busker Festival and sponsored by Scotiabank with proceeds benefiting Epilepsy Toronto.
It was fun, with amazing acrobats, aerialists, puppets, fire-breathers - and a few things no words can describe - With over a million spectators and over 100 of the best street performers from around the world - Just another reason why I love Toronto so much!

landmark realty: You Get to Pick Them - Yes! You Get to Pick Your Clients!~ - 08/06/10 10:38 PM

It's something I've been thinking about a lot lately - and then serendipitously (as these things happen) Seth Godin writes a post on a similar theme.
Yes when you're new and/or hungry you take anywhichone (yes I made that up :) and all clients that you feel fortunate enough to have come your way. But after a while ( and sometimes thats a LONG while).......you realize that there are some clients you really want to share with other Realtors (no one can call YOU greedy!)

landmark realty: Views from a Chilliwack Real Estate Kiosk - The Rhythm of the Mall - 08/15/09 12:47 AM

Our office now has a Kiosk in Cottonwood Mall. Yep 14 of us Realtors pay to sit for a couple of hours 2 or 3 times a week to meet and greet ~ I've always enjoyed people watching...but who has time these days other then at a stoplight?
Well here I sit, nestled between Cobbs Bakery where I get to inhale the sweet aroma of freshly baked bread...

And the Flight Centre - where there's a huge map of the world and I get to fantasize where I would like to put a pushpin next.
