Sources for Localism Posts.  You DO Want the Consumer to Find YOU, Right?? You know the consumer wants the info.  Yes, locally themed posts might not be as much "fun" to write.  You might get a few more comments than a listing or Open House post, but if social reasons are your reason for blogging, you're probably going to be disappointed by the comment results of your local posts. But here's the thing, as more and more consumers go straight to the Web to find out what they want to know....are YOU getting in front of them?  And the side perk … (84 comments)

Paying It Forward: Feed The Kitties! - 06/26/11 09:52 AM
Paying It Forward:  Feed The Kitties! If you've been reading us for awhile you know we're animal lovers.  We've been "found" by cats over the years and adopted a Chihuahua this year so we'd no longer be dogless :) Well we've been "found" again by another mom cat and a trio of kittens.  Two tabbies and a black/white mix, genders unknown!  Our garage "kitty shelter" is already at capacity, so Liz is working with these outside cats to socialize and get them adoptable. The local humane society, while quite good, is always at max capacity for cats, and the borderline feral … (33 comments)

Paying It Forward: Standing In the Checkout Line - 06/18/11 08:51 AM
Paying It Forward:  Standing In the Checkout Line We tend to do most of our grocery shopping in frequent, small trips.  Mostly at one of our two local Krogers.  The Kings Mill Kroger on SR741 is pretty convenient when coming home from the day job, and with the Redbox for DVD rentals, sometimes gives us a two for one reason to shop there! This week I stopped by to pick up a few necessities for the night's dinner, and was in the express line.  I couldn't help but notice the couple in front of me, I'd have to assume the lady … (33 comments)

Little Miami School Tax Levy on Ballot for November.  Is the 9th Time The Charm? The Cincinnati Enquirer reported Wednesday what everyone has known to be coming, the Little Miami School District will try again for a needed tax levy on the November 2011 ballot. But here's the good news potentially, Ohio state funding support hasn't been cut as far as first … (13 comments)

Sorry C.E. Class But Active Rain Already Taught Me That! I'm coming up on my three year license renewal next month and working on finishing my continuing education requirements again.  Ohio is a bit light on the requirements, 30 hours every three years including the 9 mandatory for Ethics, Fair Housing and Law.  The other 21 are pretty much fair game from anything we want to take from an accredited source. As you might guess, with a day job as an engineer, attending classes in person is a bit of a challenge, so online education tends to work best for my … (58 comments)

Why You SHOULD Use A REALTOR(R) When Considering New Construction! - 06/07/11 09:24 AM
Why You SHOULD Use A REALTOR® When Considering New Construction! A builder's rep works for who?  Hint:  It's NOT you!  Don't get us wrong, they'll be VERY helpful!  Their paychecks depend on their ability to get you to buy a … (48 comments)

Paying It Forward:  Sometimes It's The Little Bits That Add Up! Each week we try to find something "blogworthy" for the Pay It Forward group.  Some weeks it's easy, a pint of blood given, some work at our church for Habitat for Humanity, another donation to a worthy charity. Other weeks, it's an accumulation of the little bits that individually don't seem like much to us, but each little bit act might have a big impact on the recipient, either by that act itself, or by our act adding up in conjunction with so many others. For instance, when we go … (30 comments)

Summertime is just around the corner, but some days when you step outside you'd think it was already here!  Hot Hot Hot!!  If your home is on the market, something you might want to consider is your thermostat temperature before showings. When the buyer is focused more on how uncomfortable they are and not the features … (31 comments)
