Cincinnati Airport Now Has FREE WiFi Service! - 02/29/12 05:47 AM
Cincinnati Airport Now Has FREE WiFi Service! We recently posted about the three main commercial airports serving Warren County residents: Cincinnati, Dayton and Columbus. It's fantastic that we have so many choices for flights within about an hour's drive. One of the longstanding complaints about the Cincinnati airport is the high airfares. Face it, Delta pretty much runs the show at CVG with minimal competition. They set the supply and adjust prices to the most that demand will support. That's all well and fine, it's free enterprise at work. As consumers we always have the choice of driving, or driving to

Can You Learn A Lesson From Car Salesmen? - 02/28/12 03:34 AM
Can You Learn A Lesson From Car Salesmen? We know, WE know, our favorite profession to NOT be compared to! But often in life we've learned that you can gain two types of lessons: how to do it right, and how to do it wrong! Just don't make a mistake as to WHICH lesson you're learning! The most recent issue of Fortune magazine has an article by Becky Quick regarding her recent experiences buying a minivan. The consistent theme through her dealings with three different auto dealerships was one of dismissal because of her gender. "The guys" kept wanting to talk to

Paying It Forward: Another Pint of Red Blood Cells On Their Way! - 02/26/12 06:59 AM
Paying It Forward: Another Pint of Red Blood Cells On Their Way! I'd fallen off the wagon so to speak with my blood donations. The winter donations always seem to be more troublesome, with either my eligibility running into the Christmas vacation time frame, followed by two weeks of fighting a cold, then some business travel and before you know it, it's February! Well this week I got to relax in the portable chaise lounge long enough to give Hoxworth Blood Center a pint of blood for the patients in need. I'm A- blood, so that puts me in

Is Your Home What The Buyers Are Looking For? This morning Cincinnati MLS lists 1366 homes for sale in Warren County. There are another 355 Warren County homes under contract. 2300 Warren County homes were recorded as SOLD in Cincinnati MLS for 2011. And yet, there don't appear to be enough homes for sale in Warren County! Now you might find this strange, there's over 7 months of inventory currently Active and almost two months of inventory under contract, so isn't that PLENTY of homes for sale? It would seem like it, wouldn't it? However, those 1366 homes aren't satisfying

Blue Ash's Mo's Marathon: Our Favorite Auto Mechanics - 02/22/12 08:22 AM
Blue Ash's Mo's Marathon: Our Favorite Auto Mechanics Ask most people what service field selection gives them the most apprehension and we'd bet auto mechanics is near the top of the list! Once upon a time if you had some wrenches, screwdrivers and a good hammer you could probably fix just about anything on your car. Those days are long gone for most of us, and turning over a big part of our lives (and an open checkbook) makes us nervous. We used to feel that way too, but about 15 years ago one of Bill's co-workers recommended a local independent

Just Because You Think It's So, Doesn't Make It So! - 02/21/12 06:21 AM
Just Because You Think It's So, Doesn't Make It So! Yesterday afternoon our copier/printer flashed "NO TONER" in the middle of a big print job. No problem, open up the bottom storage and pull out a new toner cartridge and........ Aaaaack! NO TONER is right, nothing in there! Now I could have sworn that we had one left, but nope. No gots, nada.... Fortunately early enough in the day to visit our copier service company and get toner cartridges, so no harm done. However, in this case, thinking we had a toner cartridge didn't make it so did it? We encounter

Has Spring Sprung Early in The Warren County Real Estate Market? - 02/18/12 06:14 AM
Has Spring Sprung Early in The Warren County Real Estate Market? We all know it's been a bizarre winter, extraordinarily mild....sorry Duke Energy, but we're enjoying keeping that extra money in our pocket this year! And the warmer weather seems to be spreading to additional heat in the Warren County real estate market. There's strong evidence that more buyers are out looking than typical for this normally chilly time of the year for temperatures AND the real estate market. Why do we say the market is stronger? Our personal experience is part of it: four of our listings are getting showings

Are You Prepared to Move Quickly? As soon as you start considering selling your home, you need to assume success. When we first meet, we'll talk about many things besides how to get your home ready and expected selling price range. Among the questions you'll probably have is "How long until my house sells?" Obviously there are quite a few variables that go into that answer, some YOU control, some WE control, some NEITHER of us control. If WE team together and properly prepare, price and market your home, we can optimize the conditions that a buyer WILL find you. However,

Lebanon's The Golden Lamb Joins Greater Cincinnati Independent Restaurants! - 02/12/12 07:51 PM
Lebanon's The Golden Lamb Joins Greater Cincinnati Independent Restaurants! EASILY Lebanon's most famous landmark and with good reason, The Golden Lamb has joined the Greater Cincinnati Independent Restaurant association. Open for business since 1803, you can just feel the history of this restaurant/inn, and with good reason! The Golden Lamb is THE oldest continuously running business in Ohio. Now the building may have changed a bit over the centuries, but the reason it has succeeded has not. A sense of history, solid comfort food, a convenient location (in the heart of Lebanon on the northwest intersection of Broadway & Main), all

Tracking Your Home's History Does your home have a diary? And we're not talking literal entries by your home...."Dear Diary, if that dog has an accident on my floor one more time I'm going to slam the door on his tail!!" type entries, but a historical log of repairs and changes. A frequent struggle for homeowners when we meet to list their home is defining WHEN and WHAT work was actually done. "Ethel, did we put on that new roof in 2008? or 2009?". Now some homeowners are very analytical....they'll have EVERY record of EVERY thing that was ever done to
