Wow I've been gone a while now. Lots of things have happened since I last wrote, I got married, I got diagnosed with cancer, missed out planned blessing on the beach and "family" honeymoon, had major surgery and spent several months recovering. It was a slow process and I'm thankful to my husband and daughters for taking such good care of me. I'm also very blessed to have had wonderful doctors and nurses.

I did one vacant home staging in the last months, and it was for someone I know so it wasn't a high pressure job and I must say I was very pleased with the results!

So now I'm feeling much closer to 100% and I'm ready to dive head first into some new projects. On Tuesday I had my first redesign consultation in quite some time, and I admit I was nervous as I prepared for the appointment. My client is a man I met almost a year ago at a Chamber of Commerce meeting and his goal is to freshen up his house for his own enjoyment now, and to have it more buyer friendly for when he puts it on the market a few years down the road. It's a big house in a lovely neighborhood, and it has great bones.... It does however need updating. I've sent out my report and am hoping for another meeting to nail down just what he's going to let me do. I'm hoping for new countertops, a few new pieces of furniture, a major update on the art and accessories and paint all around. I'm really excited to get moving on this and I've had a great time choosing paint colors, countertop, and planning in my minds eye how to best showcase his house and make it a more enjoyable home for him to live in for the next few years. The one thing I've lost is my carpet cleaning man, does anyone in my area (or out of it) have suggestions for me... either private or a chain that you've had luck with?

It's great to be back and I hope all of you have been enjoying success and happiness while I've been away.

Say nothing part II
Elizabeth DeMarco (First Impressions by Elizabeth)
A short while back I wrote about a listing that really brought out my inner-stager. It was a wonderful home, in a fantastic neighborhood, perfect for a young family to put down roots and build memories. The problem I saw was that it was outdated and…
Say nothing?
Elizabeth DeMarco (First Impressions by Elizabeth)
As a stager, as well as someone looking at second homes in Florida, and reading AR posts etc. I see a LOT of pictures of houses listed for sale. I love the staged homes. I am sometimes appalled by pictures… I mean really? You couldn't make the bed…
Trying to get back in the swing of things
Elizabeth DeMarco (First Impressions by Elizabeth)
It's a rainy Tuesday here in Lansdale Pennsylvania, and it sort of suits my mood. I have a cold, and chores ahead of me today that I'm just not that into. Ok I'm whining. I haven't blogged in a while, I sat here a couple times in the last weeks and…
Women's networking
Elizabeth DeMarco (First Impressions by Elizabeth)
Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending a women's networking luncheon sponsored by the Penn-Suburban Chamber of Commerce. I'm a new member and I have found everyone I've met at events to be friendly and helpful. The guest speaker was wonderful,…
I love vacant home staging and moving, that's a love hate thing.
Elizabeth DeMarco (First Impressions by Elizabeth)
It started out when I was in my 20's, those first homes away from the home you grew up with. Plodding forward to life on your own, but most of all a brand new space. Over the years through single life, marriage, divorce, new (well not so new anymore…
Building my inventory!
Elizabeth DeMarco (First Impressions by Elizabeth)
I'm excited that in the last week I've managed to add some great pieces to my furniture and accessories inventory at some great prices. I got some wonderful clearance and sale pieces in both areas, things I'm sure I'll be able to lease time and…
A realtor who just didn't get it...or want to
Elizabeth DeMarco (First Impressions by Elizabeth)
I attended a Chamber of Commerce business card swap. I was disappointed that in a fairly good sized crowd there was only one agent there. I did however have a lot of interest from others in what I did and several asked me if they could have a few of…
The Ides of March
Elizabeth DeMarco (First Impressions by Elizabeth)
As long as I can remember this is the day that I personally consider to be the kick-off for spring. Signs of life are starting in our gardens as bulbs start to show through the ground that until recently has been nothing but frozen mud. It makes me…
Joining clubs, associations etc
Elizabeth DeMarco (First Impressions by Elizabeth)
I 'm going to go to my first local Chamber of Commerce event later this week. I'm really looking forward to it and was surprised to see on their member listing no other stagers. I'm hoping this means I've stumbled into a great little niche that will…
