Wake County Schools Many times the first question that families want to know about is the schools. Wake county schools have consistently been rated in the top of the country. However, there are some things that may be different from what you're used to.

This week I had the pleasure of helping another happy first time home buyer close on her very first home, a gorgeious townhouse in a prime location in Raleigh, North Carolina!

Even though the First Time Home Buyer tax credit has expired, this intelligent young woman still realized that owning a house was better than paying her landlord's mortgage! 
 With interest rates under 4.65% and FHA mortgages available with 3% down payment,  buying now seems to be an easy WIN WIN situation.

Summer vacation is almost over for the students on "traditional calendar year" here in the Raleigh  Cary Apex area of North Carolina.
As of Wednesday, August 25, the kiddies will be heading on back to their beloved school.  (Can you hear the parents clapping already?)
The  Wake County School District has a wonderful website where you can find everything from the student assignment to the days off, to the school lunch menus!
They even have individiual schools test scores and other info.  With 161 schools in this area, you can search for individual schools by clicking here.

Wordless Wednesday- Summer Haze and Lazy Days - 08/11/10 02:33 PM
With the hot weather that we here in Apex North Carolina have been experiencing all summer (along with the rest of the world!)  Mother Nature seems unusually still and quiet.
Taking a walk at Crowder  Park near my home recently, my husband and I seemed to be the only ones moving.

 
Peaceful and serene, the only ones moving were the turtles that were in the water.

Who says Homes aren't selling right now? Here in Apex, North Carolina,- otherwise known as "the Peak of Good Living", we had 58 homes close for the month of July 2010!
These homes ranged in price from $112,000 to $799,000! 
As you can see, there's something for everyone!
 
 
As of today, there are 59 homes under contract and scheduled to close within the next month or so in Apex.
