Wordless Wednesday- Can you walk the hawk walk? - 10/20/10 03:19 PM

Went out on my upstairs porch yesterday to enjoy the beautiful autumn day in Apex and out of the corner of my eye spotted something unusually large looking at me from on my front lawn.

Ran to get my camera, set it up on the railing, zoomed in aournd 25 times, set it on a high shutter speed, and snapped away at this young hawk WALKING around on my front lawn.

I've seen deer on my front lawn, plenty of rabbits, and the neighborhood dogs, but this is the first time a HAWK was … (6 comments)

The Difference Between Spots on the Windows and Spot On! - 10/15/10 02:16 PM
Wonderful words of wisdom from Wake Forest and my friend Leesa.  We all know how busy everyone is these days, but cleaning your house SPOTLESS when it's for sale is ESSENTIAL.  The cleaner it is, the more money you'll get for it in the faster amount of time.
This is not a new problem. When I was selling my first home back in 1985 in a little town in Upstate New York, I had a buyer tell me that my house was the FIRST clean house they had seen.  I had 2 children under the age of 4 and was working … (1 comments)

Miss the Bright lights and City noise? Only 500 miles from Apex to New York City - 10/15/10 12:24 PM
So many people move to the Raleigh Cary area of North Carolina from New York City and Long Island
that we can almost call it Manhattan South.

Except of course that we don't have the skyscrapers, city lights, subways, and 8 million other people.

We do have:
fine dining  little cafes  theatre  lots of shopping  and most important of all- lots of free parking!!!

While it may look like worlds away, New York is a mere 500 miles, 9 hour drive from Apex, Cary, and Raleigh.

Art capital of the South? The North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh. - 10/07/10 12:46 PM
Thinking of something to do in Raleigh that you may not have done before?
How about visiting the recently reopened North Carolina Museum of Art, located on Blue Ridge Rd?
The brand new West building, opened in March of 2010, has over 127,000 square foot of space to display the over 5000 pieces that make up the permanent collection of the museum's art.
"The 164-acre campus is the nation's largest art museum park, with walking paths, bike trails, ecological projects conceived with artists, and site-specific commissioned works of art in a rolling green landscape."

Great reasons to buy a house, or not. Great advice on selling your house, or not.

From someone I consider to be one of the most expert and knowledgeable agent in the country- Lenn Harley of Maryland.
