I love beaches, and have been to every one listed here. So I was amazed, surprised, and delighted when I found this beach at Talkeetna, Alaska, at the merge of three rivers. Gorgeous day, gorgeous place. Wonderful memories.

So there we were, a group of five or six wayward tourists waiting for the bus back to McKinley from the quaint little town of Talkeetna, Alaska.
Sitting on some benches under a wood shelter on a dusty parking lot, bordered by rocks, one of the older gentleman notices this rock and just matter of factly says " this rock looks like a butt"! Well, everyone was roaring. It was the ultimate ice breaker!

Musings and Advice on Traveling to Alaska (or Africa, New Zealand, etc)
I just returned this weekend from a fabulous cruise and land tour to Alaska. After 2 weeks away from the office, it's taking me some time to catch up and get everything back in order. In between catching up on phone calls and emails, these thoughts have come to me: They say that travel is a learning experience. This photo was taken from the balcony of our stateroom on the Island Princess cruise ship May 17. As my husband and I gazed at the beauty of the landscape before us, I noticed all the balconies filled with people, just being quiet and enjoying the sunset. At the time I thought it was truly a "speechless Sunday".
