buyers: Meeting a buyers (unusual) needs - 06/29/10 10:18 AM
Here in the Cary Apex area of North Carolina we have an abundance of beautiful homes for sale, many of which are in planned communities.  Finding a home for a buyer who wants to live in Brackenridge, Holly Brook, Brighton Forest,  or any of the other lovely neighborhoods can provide a wealth of choices.
However, many of today's buyers have particular needs out side of the usual for the property they want to call home.
For instance, I recently helped a young couple who were first time home buyers fulfill their unusual needs. They wanted a home with a nice piece of land, not … (5 comments)

buyers: Common Misconceptions Among Buyers - 04/07/10 10:53 AM
My friend Colleen in Tallahassee recently wrote a post featuring some misconceptions that buyer's may have when looking to write an offer on a home.  I've been talking to several buyers recently and teaching them these same things, so it's thought it would be worth it to repost her wonderfully written advice.
If you're looking to buy a home in the Triangle area of North Carolina, I'd be happy to guide you to the right decsion.

Misconception: If you pay list price, you're paying too much.
If you don't know what the current market value is for homes in the … (0 comments)

Do you need a home?

Of course you do! Everyone needs a home.  And even if you're technically not "homeless" right now, there are still many reasons you may need to buy a house.
"Why would I possibly want to buy a home in this economic climate?"  you may be asking yourself.

buyers: No More Juggling! Leverage- It's a MUST in every sales position. - 08/18/08 07:52 AM
My husband and I recently had the "experience" of having to buy a car. Always stressful, sometimes fun, and hopefully as hassle-free as possible. See my previous blog - Cars, Houses... they're all the same kind of client.
Most consumers these days are very educated about the large scale products they are buying, be it a house, car, or even a big screen TV. We've researched all the brands, prices, and specs on the Internet before even venturing out there.
Salespeople are there to make the sale, and consumers are wary.  Therefore, the salesman's job ultimately is to make the buyer … (10 comments)

buyers: Cars, Houses.... they're all the same types of client. - 08/14/08 05:54 AM
Well, it's finally happened. After 10 years and 200,000 miles, my husband decided he neeeded a new car. Not that he doesn't love his 1998 Honda Civic, it just came to a point as to whether to put some money into a new clutch, or buy a new car.
Now, I've been married to Jeff for over 30 years, and I love him dearly, but making big decsions quckly is not his strong point.
When he got the bad news about the work needed on his car last Friday, I knew how my weekend was going to be spent.  First he had to … (0 comments)

buyers: Looking for a home near the new YMCA in Apex, NC? - 06/17/08 11:45 PM
If you've read my recent blogs, you'll remember that my husband and I recently joined the Kraft Family YMCA in Apex, NC. We like the Y so much that we're now becoming a little compulsive about it!  I've become addicted to the Yoga classes, survived a Spin Cycling class, and today took the Mat Pilates class for the first time
Yes, the Pilates was tough, because, no, I don't have abs of steel. Pilates is based on core body strength, and keeping the spine in alignment.  Almost everyone can benefit from that!  I can see how by practicing Pilates for a … (0 comments)

buyers: Our favorite Motivated Sellers- and great cookies! - 06/17/08 04:45 AM
It seems by recent blogs that we're all seeing sellers and agents who are still stuck with the idea that it's a buyers market out there and little effort is needed on their part to get their house sold.  I've even heard some agents tell their sellers that buyers "know someone lives here, they'll overlook stuff". Well, maybe a few years ago they would, but now buyers expect every home to look like a model. And the homes that do, sell!
We had a client a few years back that baked cookies before every showing. (yes, she was our seller of the year!). … (6 comments)

buyers: Gas Saving Tips - 06/09/08 07:19 AM
With oil prices reaching record highs, the price of filling up the tank is becoming more and more challenging for many American households. Here are a few simple tips to help you save money at the pump this spring: Use the octane level recommended by your owner's manual - According to the Federal Trade Commission, "Using a higher-octane gas than the manufacturer recommends offers no benefit in most cases." So, as long as your engine's not knocking or pinging, you can save up to 40 cents a gallon in many cases simply by switching to lower-octane fuel. If you're convinced that … (0 comments)

Here are some common household items that can be used as eco-friendly cleaning products to help get you started:
White vinegar and lemon juice- These items are naturally acidic and help remove sticky residue as they eat away tarnish. Some coffee maker brands suggest using white vinegar as a cleaning agent. Cutting a fresh lemon in thin slices and … (0 comments)

buyers: Cary Apex area market report April 2008 - 06/04/08 07:49 AM
The real estate market for Cary/ Apex/ Morrisville North Carolina continues to out-perform the national market. There were actually more homes put under contract in April 2008 than in April 2007.

As these charts show the average price per square foot for homes sold is very positive as well, up $3 from April of 2007.
The number of homes for sale in Cary is way up from last year but current pendings have brought the months supply to a very solid 6, a great number compared to the 9-24 months we are seeing in other parts of the country.
A big reason for the … (0 comments)
