crowder park: ICY Apex, North Carolina? Ponds frozen? How North are we? - 01/18/11 09:53 AM
Does this winter weather seem extreme in all parts of the country lately? From floods and rain in the West to Christmas blizzards in New York City to ice storms in the South, we're seeing it all this year. Sunday was finally a nice day here in the Peak of Good Living of Apex North Carolina, so we took the opportunity to take a family walk with the dog to our favorite neighborhood park- Crowder Park off TenTen Rd. Lo and behold, there was ice on the pond!! 5 days after our big ice storm, parts of the pond

crowder park: Wordless Wednesday- Summer Haze and Lazy Days - 08/11/10 02:33 PM
With the hot weather that we here in Apex North Carolina have been experiencing all summer (along with the rest of the world!) Mother Nature seems unusually still and quiet. Taking a walk at Crowder Park near my home recently, my husband and I seemed to be the only ones moving. Peaceful and serene, the only ones moving were the turtles that were in the water. Thinking of Moving? There are currently 153 homes for sale within a 2 mile radius of Crowder Park, ranging in price from $139,900 to $1,549,000 If you'd like

crowder park: Crowder Park In Apex North Carolina - A great area to live in! - 04/04/10 09:03 AM
The community surrounding Crowder Park in Apex North Carolina loves it's park, especially in Spring. There's nothing like one of the first warm days of spring, especially when the children are off of school, to bring families out to Crowder Park. With the trees in early bloom and the azaleas just starting to produce some color, Crowder Park in Apex North Carolina was brimming with activity this week. Located at 4709 TenTen Rd, near the intersection of Holly Springs Rd, Crowder Park was opened in 1998 with land donated by Mrs. Doris Crowder and funds from Wake County. Are you a nature buff? crowder park: Spring came "Marching" in like a Lamb in North Carolina. - 03/01/10 03:29 PM
March came in like a lamb today in the Apex Cary area of North Carolina. Although those pessimistic weather people are calling for a "wintry mix" again for tomorrow and Wednesday, today the forsythia were starting to bloom and the sun was shining. Notice our "Carolina blue" sky? By the end of March here in Raleigh going out like a lion usually means a rainstorm to help make the flowers grow.

crowder park: Come in from the Cold, this is Winter in North Carolina - 01/25/10 04:28 PM
The 4 Seasons of North Carolina After a couple of weeks of unusually cold weather throughout the country, and in the South particularly, we here in Apex, North Carolina, had a few days of warm rain last week. And then, finally on Saturday, it was sunny, warm, and bright! You'd think we Southerner's had been trapped in the house for months. People were out with their kids, dogs, friends, and lovers, walking through the trails at the park and sitting on the benches enjoying the day. Yes, we do have winter in North Carolina. However, it's not the frigid cold, deep snow,

crowder park: Silent Sunday- Apex or Giverny? - 01/24/10 01:37 PM
Crowder Park was filled with people enjoying the first sunny day in a week yesterday, as were the ducks. Because of all the recent rain, the pond was muddy, causing the reflections and the ripples to give a impressionistic, look, almost as those Monet could have painted it.

crowder park: Apex Rocks! Something old is new in Crowder Park, North Carolina - 09/07/09 10:42 AM
I've written many times about Crowder Park in Apex, North Carolina. Part of the Wake County Parks System, this 33 acres of land off Ten Ten Rd was donated by the Crowder family in 1992 to be used for the enjoyment of the people as a park. Filled with walking/running trails, a pond, playgrounds, picnic areas as well as natural areas, Crowder park is a favorite of the residents for miles around. You'll often see families with their little children on the tricycles and playground equipment, groups of people holding a barbecue in one of the three shelters, and every kind of dog imaginable being walked

crowder park: I can't post a Wordless Wednesday - Apex North Carolina - 12/10/08 08:02 AM
Is it just a female thing, or being a Realtor, or just because I like to talk that I can't have "wordless Wednesday"? And whereas a picture may say 1000 words, a little background information sometimes brings a lot more meaning to the picture. This picture was taken about a month ago in Crowder Park, Apex, North Carolina. Now that the leaves are off the trees and everything is grey and bare, seeing this picture again with the colors and the reflection on the water give reminds me of the warm day and the walk with my sister and the dog.

crowder park: Not Vermont, Not Montana, This is Autumn in North Carolina! - 11/12/08 10:03 PM
I've heard about the fall colors in Vermont, seen pictures of the Northwest, and lived in Upstate New York for my childhood. Autumn was always my favorite season (if you don't count Spring and Summer.) Living in San Diego for 16 years, the one thing I missed was the changing of the seaons, and especially the Fall . However, this year the autumn color in Wake County is spectacular. Last year we were in the midst of a drought so our leaves went from green to brown to winter without much fanfare. This year we're making up for it in spades! Since
