The La Jolla Rough Water Swim starts and finishes at the La Jolla Cove on September 7th. The "Swim" has been a La Jolla summertime tradition since 1916 and has been held every year, exept in 1935 when the San Diego Exposition was sponsored in lieu of the Swim and in 1948 when concerns of Polio forced cancellation. Today was spent cruising around the Village of La Jolla with friends from Chicago. I spent part of my pre-teen and teen years in a small village in Chicago, called Riverside. Our claim to fame was that we were next to the world famous Brookfield Zoo. My friends and I attended Riverside-Brookfield High School listening to the animal sounds which eminated from the zoo, spent our short summers at the Riverside Swim Club and our long winters ice skating on the Des Plaines River (see picture on right).

For over a year I have, as most of us, been dealing with clients who are experiencing financial difficulty with trying to make their mortgage payments. Short sales and foreclosures are being experienced in every neighborhood, even those high end areas of our real estate market, such as La Jolla, Carmel Valley and Rancho Santa Fe.
