Happy Mother's Day! - 05/08/11 11:48 AM
My greatest joy in life has been being a mother to my children.  Now adults, I like to remind them that regardless of their ages, they will always be my lil' ones.  They have taught me so much about love, sacrifice, joy, perserverance and the meaning of life.  Happy Mother's Day to all my friends, family, real estate clients/associates and ActiveRain members!

A Sign of "Their" Times - 05/07/11 08:18 PM
My parents kept everything.  When they passed away I started going through their paperwork and keeping those documents that I thought I would need "later" and others that I kept because they were a "sign of their times".  The picture below is from a newspaper in 1964 that my father had kept.
My father was a Colonel in the Air Force with an MBA from Harvard and was making around $1500 per month in the Air Force.  Hard to believe considering the kind of money I have made in my 25+ year career in real estate.  Even with inflation, I can't begin … (3 comments)

"New" Mothers at the Lake - 05/06/11 07:57 PM
In honor of Mother's Day this weekend, I thought I would post a few photos taken of the "new" mothers on the lake of our desert home.  It is pretty amazing that this time of year the cycle of life continues, whether it is the local water fowl or the rabbits, desert tortoises or coyotes in our neighborhood.  What do you see in yours?

Feliz Cinco de Mayo in La Jolla - 05/05/11 10:32 PM
Happy Cinco de Mayo!  La Jollans love holidays and celebrating Cinco de Mayo at Alfonso's Restaurant or Jose's on Prospect Street is a perfect opportunity to enjoy Mexican food & good friends!
Cinco de Mayo is not Mexico's Independence Day, which is on September 16th, but it is cause for celebrating Mexican heritage and pride and to commemorate the Mexican Army's victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla.
Feliz Cinco de Mayo!

Mother Nature Delivers - 05/01/11 09:48 AM
Spring is officially here and doing well at our lakeside home in the desert.  The cycle of nature continues in the Coachella Valley and even though there have been struggles with predators, especially the two-legged kind, it seems that at least for now, all are thriving.  Here are a few pictures to show Mother Nature strutting her stuff!
