domestic violence victims rentals: New 2009 Laws Affecting California Realtors - Domestic Violence Victims & Rentals - 10/13/08 07:38 PM

Here is the eighth installment of a mini-series about the new California laws for 2009 affecting Realtors® with licenses in California.
This new law states that a Tenant victimized by domestic violence can terminate tenancy. Beginning on September 27, 2008, a tenant can terminate a tenancy upon giving a 30-day written notice to terminate, if the notice also informs the landlord that the tenant or a household member has been a victim of domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking as defined.
