Unemployment In Queen Anne County, MD - 03/02/11 01:48 PM
The Bureau of Labor U.S. Department of Labor has released unemployment figures for the Delmarva Peninsula by county.
The report shows that 8 of 14 counties posted lower unemployment rates than the previous year. In December 2010, Queen Anne's County, MD recorded the lowest unemployment rate on the Delmarva Peninsula at 6.5%. Worcester County, MD posted the highest unemployment rate at 16.3%.

New legislation aims to ban septic systems in new large subdivisions. Proponents say it will decrease pollution and promote smart growth, but critics including Senator E.J. Pipkin, an Eastern Shore Republican, say it will hurt the state's rural areas. The bill would require the subdivisions to obtain access to public sewerage systems or to use technology to treat sewage to decrease nitrogen pollution.
