Historic Old Post Office-Stevensville MD - 06/29/11 10:38 PM
The steadfast mailman- delivers the mail in rain, hail, sleet, or snow, I think it was a little different in the early 20th century. Think of covered wagons and horse-drawn sleighs that pull up to the 730 sq ft building known as the Stevensville Post Office, with mail carriers collecting the mail and delivering to the Northern end of Kent Island known as Love Point, to the Southern end of Kent Island known as Kent Point. You can visit the Historic Post Office or can you visit me. Hi, I'm Lisa Longest at Exit Gold Realty. I specialize in real estate

Cross Island Trail on Kent Island-Stevensville MD - 06/28/11 05:09 PM
We have a number of parks on Kent Island, such as Matapeake State Park, Terrapin Beach nature Park and Mowbray Park, and I will discuss these on a later blog. I want to talk about the Cross Island Trail. It's a linear park in Queen Anne's County offering an avenue of safe non-vehicular transportation for citizens. The trail was initiated in 1998 and completed in September 2001. The Cross Island Trail spans Kent Island west and east, from Terrapin Nature Park on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay to the Kent Narrows. The trail affords natural vistas and unique opportunities

What's so special about this Bed and Breakfast? Well, actually it's alittle more than a B&B now, but here is it's history: Mr. Thomas Wetherall was granted the land in 1651, only seventeen years after Lord Calvert’s arrival in Maryland. Purchased by Dr. John Smyth at the turn of the century it was renamed Smithfield. The estate stayed in the Smyth family until 1843

Love Point's Name- Stevensville MD - 06/26/11 01:17 PM
What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet. (Shakespeare) So, would you like to know the history behind Love Point's name? Well, first of all a little history: Love Point is located on the Northern end of Kent Island, and Kent Island is the largest island in the Chesapeake Bay, and a historic place in Maryland. To the east, a narrow channel known as the Kent Narrows barely separates the island from the Delmarva Peninsula, and on the other side, the island is separated from Sandy Point, an area near Annapolis,
