new mexico: ABQ Uptown Northeast Albuquerque, New Mexico - 09/09/11 11:47 PM
ABQ Uptown Northeast Albuquerque, New Mexico ABQ Uptown located on the Northeast Quadrant of Louisiana Boulevard and Indian School Road Albuquerque, New Mexico boasts the most modern amenities of all New Mexico’s Shopping Centers. It has been described as “New Mexico’s Ultimate Shopping Destination” but ABQ Uptown is more than just a shopping experience. It is more of an urban experience woven in semi-suburban atmosphere. It provides such contrasts one would probably get confused if this were somewhere other than the Land of Enchantment. There are two components to ABQ Uptown, a commercial and a residential. new mexico: What is the true Purpose of doing Open Houses in Albuquerque, New Mexico? - 07/17/11 03:49 PM
What is the true Purpose of doing Open Houses in Albuquerque, New Mexico In a conversation with a Seller yesterday, I conveyed to her that an Open House in Albuquerque New Mexico serves to do but one thing..."it serves as a prospecting tool for real estate agents." She almost lost her mind. I told her that I would be willing to list her house, but I was unwilling to commit to doing an open house once per week until it is under contract. Needless to say I walked away from that listing (subject of another blog), with a renewed sense of purpose.

new mexico: A Local Active Rain Group! - 01/03/10 01:30 AM
Is it possible to actually form a local Active Rain Group? Are there any current groups around the country, that meet on a regular basis? I am curious. If you have such a group, I would be happy to hear from. According to Rich Cederberg, one of the top-ranked Active Rain members in New Mexico, "New Mexico is under represented" on Active Rain. I can just imagine an Active Rain Mixer in Albuquerque, where we invite potential members and have a mass signing up party. Is this far fetched, or have folks done this before? Maybe I am having too

new mexico: Commentary: Albuquerque & Rio Rancho Real Estate - 10/23/09 11:44 PM
Sunday’s Rio Rancho Journal reported in the article “Home Sales Continue To Rebound,” good news for the real estate market in both Albuquerque and Rio Rancho. The September 2009 numbers for both cities were better than those for 2008…Click the below link for the article: Home Sales Continue To Rebound on Page 1 of October 17, 2009 issue of Rio Rancho Journal Section I am not sure that this article appropriately explains the current trend though. I think that comparing percentage change between our two cities is a bad idea. Should Albuquerque reflect a higher percentage change next month, would that

new mexico: Agent Websites, What Really Worked: - 10/15/09 11:42 PM
This blog is written especially for those agents who like myself, got in the Real Estate Business, then soon realize that a website is critical piece of the equation. Not only do our competitors have them, they pay a fortune to build them in order to get potential clients. Two years ago I was inundated with marketing material from all sorts of Web Expert. From those that sold templates to those that wanted $5000 per month for 6 month to get me to become the top expert in my market. One thing I was certain about, a good website was

new mexico: Should the following headline "IndyMac Bank seized by federal regulators" cause us concern? - 07/12/08 04:32 PM
One cannot deny the impact of the following headline, "IndyMac Bank seized by federal regulators." After a busy two weeks, I finally got the chance to sit down and watch some TV. As I surfed the channels, one headline kept repeating is that of INDYMAC Bank being seized. CNN stated, "This could be the costliest bank failure in the history of the US" Should we be concerned? Are you concerned? Well, here are some links to the story: http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-indymac1-2008jul01,0,2858219.story http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-indymac12-2008jul12,0,6071779.story http://money.cnn.com/2008/07/12/news/companies/indymac_fdic/index.htm?cnn=yes Even the regulators are concerned. CNN reported that on Friday there was a "run" on INDYMAC in Pasadena, CA, and

new mexico: Did you know that "You CAN get sued for blogging?" - 06/17/08 11:40 PM
I am curious to know what the members of AR think about the current threat of lawsuits for the things we say in our blogs. I understand our rights to free speech, and value this and all other constitutional rights. After having served for twenty years to defend these rights, I for one will never be intimidated by threats or intimidation tactics that would silence me. I recognize that I cannot disparage others; I cannot plagiarize others work' and I do not choose to use profane language in expressing myself. With that said, I will speak out against any scam, injustice, questionable, or criminal practice that I am aware of,

new mexico: Realtors who Help Our Military Families...Thank You - 06/15/08 11:58 AM
The service that Realtors provide to our military families is invaluable. Sometimes it appears to go unnoticed, but I have had experience where things went awry just because the individual involved did not get the help of a Realtor soon enough. True story, I cannot give specifics about the individual but nonetheless you will understand. It happened in 2000. One of my subordinates received PCS orders to a base in Texas. She was so excited! It was her dream assignment. The one she had been waiting for all her Air Force career. It was to be a joint-spouse assignment (both military

new mexico: ALL SUCCESSFUL REAL ESTATE PROFESSIONAL...PAY ATTENTION! - 06/01/08 11:48 PM
My plans this afternoon were to basically read a few blogs, and then go hang out with the family; until I stumbled across Ross Quintana's Blog: "The Homeless in Spokane." Let me be frank, on the one hand I was moved by this blog, but I was embarassed by the feedback that it received from Active Rain members. So here is what I have decided to do: I invite you to checkout the link below: http://www.activerain.com/blogsview/352453/The-Homeless-in-Spokane; Listen, this is not unique to Spokane, Washington. All across the US there are people experiencing homelessness. I believe that we the more fortunate must show some humanity. Many of

new mexico: Exclusive Buyer and Seller Leads - 05/18/08 11:38 PM
Now I don't know about you, but these days I am being inundated with offers from lead generation companies. It's not like I haven't had my share of dealings with them, God knows I have. The interesting thing is that everything is now repackaged and the exclusive buyer and seller leads are much cheaper than 3 years ago when I had my runnings with Top Producer, House Values and Agent Connect. I consider myself an openminded individual, so I would like to invite the comment of those of you who are currently using lead generation companies, those who have tried and then
