historic district: Can Termites Make A House Disappear? - 07/09/08 02:58 PM
I recently had a contract accepted on a foreclosure in Fort Myers, in the historic district.  The house, a single family, is old, but very charming and the price even more charming.  An Inspection was, of course, ordered and completed and as may be expected with an old, vacant house, there were termites.  Minor damage from termites was also detected. The Closing is scheduled to take place at the end of this month. My client is purchasing the property as an investment and is very anxious to rid the property of the termites and write me an email recently, asking me when's the soonest she can engage a pest control company … (4 comments)

historic district: Mailboxes fight for their place in the sun - 10/09/07 09:03 PM
   While driving along the Historic District in Fort Myers, Lee County,  a few mailboxes caught my eye. Compare to the ones in Fort Myers Beach or along the famed Hickory blvd in Bonita Springs, where you might see a dolphin mailbox and next to it a formal black box with gold numbers on it, the Historic District has its own tune.
  This red brick mail box with the slick steel opening stands out.But is it the right mailbox for that home?Luckily its home is quite grandiose and does not look out of proportion. Its solid for sure and says: "now … (8 comments)

       In the last 5 years I have seen The Fort Myers Downtown Commercial District, also known as the Historic District and part of the newly called River District transformed into one of the great areas of South West Florida. The proud Royal Palms and landscaping  breaks Mc Gregor's center and side streets with grandiose beauty.
