Glad to be back from a brief hiatus... I have been doing quite a bit of reading and recently read a blog that made a lot of sense.  Basically it said national real estate statistics are about as reliable as national weather forecasts.  So my mantra is, Don't believe statistics, believe what is happening in your market.  Be proactive and patient.  If we are truly in a recession, it comforts me to know that in U.S. History the average length of a recession lasted about 10 months (although the official notification of the beginning of the last 4 recessions came about 8 months after they had begun) Okay, so let's say a year and a half!
