I DID IT!

I joined the REAL ESTATE STAGING ASSOCIATION (RESA) on 12/29/2008 and just received an amazing welcome letter from the President/CEO Shell Brodnax with the following introduction:

Congratulations on taking the first step in growing your business through a professional network of Staging entrepreneurs.  RESA is an International community of professional stagers working together to advance professionalism and excellence in Real Estate staging. With the formation of RESA we are now considered a SELF regulated Industry.  This means that all professional stagers now have a voice to help determine the directoin of their industry, by creating standards, unity and values.

I am thrilled to become part of this growing industry and I look forward to meeting everyone & to the many friendships!

INTO ACTION!!!

You control the awesome power of your thoughts. And with your thoughts you can successfully visualize yourself into action every time.

When you don't feel like doing what you know you must, that's the best time to go ahead and do it anyway. That's when you can break through your old habit patterns to a new level of focus, performance and achievement.

That first step will require you to go against your natural tendency to put it off until later and to stay comfortably where you are. So how do you get beyond that?

Use your power of visualization to do two things.

First, use your thoughts to make it even more uncomfortable, even more painful for you not to take action.

Next, visualize in great detail all the positive and desirable rewards you'll create by going ahead and getting it done. In your mind, make it so compelling to take action that you cannot avoid doing so.

Many times in the past, you've successfully avoided action by telling yourself why you can't or why you won't. Now, choose to use that same power to tell yourself why you can and why you will.

You control the awesome power of your thoughts. And with your thoughts you can successfully visualize yourself into action every time.

This was our wake up call yesterday (Wednesday) morning in Helotes, Texas!! Enjoy.

I must admit....this TEXAS GIRL DOES NOT LIKE COLD WEATHER and would much rather be HERE....

I have attempted to write my 1^st blog many, many, many times.  The hours have turned into days and now weeks so I sat here this past weekend very late on Saturday night determined to do it.  Boy, was I given a surprise visit....yes, as I sat in my office staring at my Active Rain profile I suddenly realized I was not alone! AH! A CENTIPEDE SQUIRMING AROUND! I was out of my chair within seconds to find any bug spray I can get my hands on and said good bye to my friend and my attempt to write my 1^st blog (again).

I found this article and thought it was worth showing you what the intruder looked like. 

There are many kinds of centipedes but all of them are more or less wormlike and have a flattened body. The largest centipede inhabits the tropics of Central America. Scolopendra gigantca is its name and when fully mature will attain a length of 12 inches. A closely related centipede, Scolopendra heros, occurs in Texas and may be over 5 inches long when full grown. (Stuart, 1997) Article was taken from the Texas Agricultrual Extension Service at the Texas A&M University System.

This centipede has been on my mind since Saturday and as I was pondering it occurred to me that I AM JUST LIKE A CENTIPEDE! My Active Rain profile has been active for several weeks now but I have behaved just like a centipede.  With my antenna up in the air I have been crawling around very determined reading blogs, posts after posts after posts, then comments, comments, comments, join groups, read posts, and so on...

That centipede in me is gone! So here it goes my 1^st Blog:

Hello! I am a new member to the Active Rain community and VERY new to blogging! I am thrilled to be part of this amazing group and look forward to the new friendships, learning & networking opportunities especially in my community of San Antonio & Helotes TEXAS.  Thank you to everyone for the warm welcome and especially Cindy Lin who is a fantastic mentor and coach.
