Schedule Effective - June 21, 2010
The Loudoun County Tysons Express bus service is now under way. The buses will operate on two different routes.
The first route will enter Tysons Corner on Tyco Road, traverse Jones Branch Drive, head south on Tysons Blvd. and finish on Greensboro Drive. The second route makes all the stops of the first route and includes additional stops at Tysons Corner Center and at Route 7 and International Drive. Good news! The biggest incentive for homebuyers today...low interest rates...remains unchanged following the quarterly meeting of the Federal Reserve that concluded Wednesday, June 23rd.
What kind of an impact does this have on homebuyers in the market today? More immediately, for every quarter point an interest rate increases, Buyers' purchasing power is compromised by $25,000. At lower price points, that could equate to a bedroom, bathroom, lot size (acreage) or a garage as examples.

Sellers Stand Firm On Listing PricesA new study by Trulia.com showed that sellers lowered their asking price at least once on 22 percent of homes listed for sale as of June 1st. Pending Home Sales Surge: A pending home sale is simply a signed contract on a home that has not yet closed. The National Association of Realtors reported that we continued to see gains in home sales for the third consecutive month. The index rose 6.0% last month and 22.4% when compared to April 2009. New Home Sales at 2-Year High. The Commerce Department reported that sales of newly built homes rose much faster than expected in April, rising to their highest levels in nearly two years. Sales jumped 14.8 percent (month-over-month) to an annualized rate of 504,000 units in April. This is the highest rate since May of 2008.The year-over-year increase was in excess of 22 percent.
