I was searching through AR for Realtor Technology and happened upon a blog about a realtor's website and how he uses a tool to post lots of pictures for his out-of-town buyers.
Out of curiousity I click on the link and up comes the site with a bunch of boxes, one thumbnail view of the house, and brief descriptions. I click on box number one and that loads a page with a ton of thumbnails of the house - multiple angles of rooms, views of the front of the house - TONS of photos.
And I thought to myself "Yeah, that's great" and then left. Then I thought about this subconciously, "Why did I click off?"
The reason? The lingering fear of:
- having to click on the thumbnail...
- scrollbar up and down to adjust screen...
- click next...
- wait for page to load...
- get bored at waiting for page to load...
- click back to main index to jump ahead to next picture...
Just the pure thought of all that movement caused me to not bother. (Boy am I lazy!)
And then I smiled when I realized why video was SO much simplier than pictures - ONE button - "Play" and that's it.
Aaaahhhh...basking in the glow of simple navigation and instant gratification....
