A different approach for 2010. - 12/21/09 07:52 PM
With 2009 coming to an end, I am writing up my blue print for 2010 and I'm excited to say that this 2010 is going to be a little bit different. Instead of focusing on closed sales and multi-BILLION dollar listings I'm going to try a different approach, here's the plan:
1. Read 1-2 books per month.
2. Go to Yoga 3-4 times per week.
3. Travel to D.C. in February, Texas in March, Puerto Vallarta in August.
4. Help my little Brother get an internship here in Atlanta for the summer.
5. Be more creative in the kitchen with healthy, … (8 comments)

Atlanta's Mid-Century Northcrest Neighborhood and the people who make it special - 12/16/09 09:14 PM
Ken Hedrick is a Northcrest Native and Mid-Century expert! He has lived in the Northcrest neighborhood since 2003 with his partner Hector Pages. Ken is my professional stager and the #1 reason my listings look so good (Sshhh... don't let this secret get out).
Recently I was drinking dirty martinis and drooling over his collection of unique art and Mid-Century Modern furniture. Each piece has a story. But the most prized collection would have to be the entire set of Eva Zeisel China he found back in 1984 before the MCM craze.
Me: Where did you find this immaculate Eva Zeisel set?
Ken: It was a normal day at the flea market … (2 comments)

A little town in a big city: CHAMBLEE, GA - 12/16/09 08:32 PM
Downtown Antique Row in Chamblee, have you heard of it? Probably not. It is a peaceful little railroad town that is inside the perimeter and four miles north of Buckhead. It has a rich intertwined history that goes back to 1885. Atlanta's best kept secret, a little town in a big city.
More and more young professionals are discovering the convenience and cost of living is just what they are looking for in Chamblee. Old warehouses have been turned into Loft communities andBeautiful Brownstones are being built. What really sets Chamblee apart, is the charming feeling one gets from the coffee shops, restaurants and the half a dozen … (0 comments)

Mid-Century Documentary coming to Atlanta December 11th 2009!! - 12/10/09 03:30 PM
Guess what?? The coolest MCM documentary film is coming to Atlanta (after much begging, pleading and finally demanding)!
Visual Acoustics is the story of Julius Shulman the worlds most renowned architectural photographer. Narrated by Dustin Hoffman and featuring the work of every famous modern architect  since the 1930's such as Frank Lloyd Wright, Richard Neutra, John Lautner and Frank Gehry.
"This unique film is both a testament to the evolution of modern architecture and a joyful portrait of the magnetic, whip-smart gentleman who chronicled it with his unforgettable images."

One of Julius Shulman's most well-known photographs

A Stylish Christmas!! - 12/06/09 02:36 PM

The first annual ugly sweater party was a raging success! Couples traveled from all corners of Atlanta to join in the festivities dressed in their finest Christmas knits!

Billy warms up with hamstring stretches he likes to bring his A-game when large quantities of fruit cake and eggnog are at stake.

The prize for 1980's matching cotton knits go to Ken & Hector. "Ugly" is not in Ken's vocabulary... so he settled for this border line tacky (yet sophisticated) purple vest paired with vintage cuff links. Bravo! Bravo!

And the prize for most crafty sweaters goes to … (7 comments)
