So the other day I got a phone call from a guy who said he worked for the AJC, at first I thought he was going to try and sell me some kind of advertising package, but when he started explaining how he was a reporter who focused on the writing about personal residences for the AJC Homefinder section of the Sunday paper, my ears pricked up and my heart started beating fast. This ugly duckling needed a serious makeover, and not the 30-minute kind. It had been sitting vacant for over 6 months before it was bought from the bank. Everything needed fixin' and in my humble (and professional) opinion I think we done good.
The dramatic and modern color pallet is what really sets this Mid-Century, tri-level home apart from the pack. I chose an "Urban Bronze" to accents the beams and facia on the outside then continued with it on the interior as a juxtaposition with the white tongue and groove ceilings. Ok so in my opinion there is nothing sweeter than a super-cool back splash to top off a kitchen making it unique, lovely and awe-inspiring! Every renovation I design and follow through with has a back splash that makes the buyer’s heart pitter-pat quickly which leads to a FULL PRICE OFFER : )
The trick to installing the right back splash is knowing what your working with and complimenting the rest of the kitchen without being a “forgone conclusion” or an obnoxious, gaudy wannabe decorator.
