Dilly Deli Restaurant in Blue Dome District, downtown Tulsa
One recent Saturday morning, Deme and I decided to go for brunch, and we wound up at Dilly Deli in the Bluedome District in downtown Tulsa. I LOVE this restaurant on so many levels! I had eaten lunch there previously with girlfriend Sharon, But Deme had not been there before.
The restaurant is as fun as its logo implies. It's a locally-owned business. That alone makes the food taste better and makes me want to spend my money there.
The bread: Dilly Deli's rye and Tuscan breads come from the … (0 comments)

Midtown Tulsa Real Estate offers short commute to downtown Tulsa
Downtown Tulsa is a great place to live, work and play and many are interested in midtown Tulsa real estate to shorten their commute to downtown Tulsa. Currently there are few condos downtown for sale and those that are for sale include sizable HOA dues. Rental apartments are available at the Mayo Hotel and Philtower Building, but those interested in home ownership are looking in areas with a short commute to downtown Tulsa.
One area often overlooked by those shopping midtown Tulsa real estate is the area west of Denver and … (2 comments)

downtown tulsa: Speechless Sunday: views of downtown Tulsa - 06/19/11 10:14 AM
I recently attended the "Top of the Town" fundraiser for the Tulsa Child Care Resource Center. We toured eleven venues in downtown Tulsa, many with spectacular views of our historic art deco downtown buildings. You can read the post about the fundraiser or just enjoy a few of the spectacular views!

And one of my favorite photos of downtown Tulsa - taken six years ago on our wedding day, June 11, 2005 - Demetrius and I Greek dancing at 4th & Boston!

downtown tulsa: Tulsa Homes for Sale in Midtown Tulsa, downtown Tulsa and historical districts - 02/24/11 08:25 PM
Tulsa Homes for Sale in Midtown Tulsa, downtown Tulsa and historical districts
Tulsa homes for sale in midtown Tulsa are much more expensive per square foot than the larger and newer homes found in south Tulsa and surrounding suburbs. The strict boundaries of midtown Tulsa are downtown to the north, 51st Street to the south; Riverside to the west and Harvard to the east. Some will stretch the the eastern boundary to Yale, but the more traditional "midtowners" object. One of the many established and loved midtown Tulsa neighborhoods is Florence Park - known for its smaller bungalows, varied architectural … (5 comments)

Tracy Park in midtown Tulsa: Neighborhood Amenities and Market Snapshot September 5, 2010
The Tracy Park Historic District includes homes built in the early 1920s, largely for Tulsa's oil-related business men and middle class. This small neighborhood, now in a revitalization stage is blocks from downtown Tulsa and the ever popular Cherry Street in midtown Tulsa.
Its boundaries to the north are 11th Street; east Peoria and south/west boundaries are the IDL (Inner Dispersal Loop).
Tracy Park is on the National Register of Historic Places and becoming a popular place to live. Although a small neighborhood, it includes a large … (0 comments)

Tulsa Drillers Baseball at the new ONEOK Field in downtown Tulsa
Last night was my first trip to downtown Tulsa's ONEOK Field, home of the Tulsa Drillers, the Double-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies Major League Baseball team. Demetrius and I went with friends, Mike and Laurie, for the Tulsa Driller's "Fireworks Friday" game.

We first visited the Tycoon Lounge where we enjoyed adult beverages in air-conditioned comfort and am amazing view behind home plate. They offer a buffet dinner there for a reasonable price which Mike had, but Demetri, Laurie and I had the Chicago hot dog - … (9 comments)

The Blue Dome Arts Festival in downtown Tulsa through May 16, 2010
Hard to say why the local Tulsans tend to support the Blue Dome Arts festival over Mayfest.
I can remember visiting local artists at Mayfest when I moved to Tulsa in the early 80s. Now you'll find only a few participating. The gentleman from our parish, Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, use to sell Greek food at Mayfest until the fees escalated to a point that they could no longer make a profit.
So, now at Tulsa's Mayfest, you'll find fair food and out-of-town "international" artists - few … (7 comments)

Tulsa Architecture - Art Deco captured in paintings, brick by brick
A Tulsa artist and blogger you must meet is Celeste Vaught. She is painting highlights of the heritage of Tulsa Architecture, and you can follow her work on her blog, Tulsa, Brick x Brick.
A short drive through downtown Tulsa will quickly explain her fascination with the art deco architecture - and Celeste is doing an amazing job of capturing the beauty of the elegant buildings for which many of us share fond memories.
Buildings she has painted thus far include:
