Congratulations!! You Are Now A CTA!!
That's the subject line of a message I received last week, letting me know that I passed the test to become a Certified Tourism Ambassador.  As a volunteer at the new Addison Visitor Center, I am an ambassador for the Town of Addison. The wise folks at Addison Town Hall want everyone who comes to the Addison Visitor Center to have a positive experience. Visitors are then more likely to return and they're more likely to share positive impressions with their friends.

Addison, Texas has not been as hard hit with foreclosures as other parts of the country, but foreclosures do exist here.  The foreclosure auction is held the first Tuesday of each month. Women of WaterTower (WOW!) is a group of women who support Addison's WaterTower Theatre. The goal of the organization is to offer members the opportunity to connect, to expand horizons about the arts with prestigious speakers – often women working in the arts, and to help build wider community support for WaterTower Theatre.
WOW members met at the theatre on Saturday morning for a behind the scenes look at the theater, but first there was a special presentation.  Actress Diana Sheehan was presented with an honorary WOW membership in recognition of her fine work at WaterTower Theatre. Addison Pacesetters (Addison, Texas residents 50+ years of age) meet the first Wednesday of each month at Dunn Bros. Coffeehouse on Belt Line Road and learn about the Town of Addison. This month, Neil Hewitt, Treasurer of the PTA at the new George H. W. Bush Elementary School, spoke to us.

Sellers: It will soon become necessary for you to keep VERY good records of the dates you do renovations in your home. When you go to sell, the appraiser will note this information in the appraisal report. You wouldn't want your closing delayed while you gather this information. Have it handy when the home is listed. Also, read below for the difference between remodel and update.

Only twelve homes came on the market in Addison, TX in July, 2011 (down from 18 last month). In addition to the homes below, there are another 40 that have been on the market for more than a month. There are currently 23 single family homes (including 2 in option), no half-duplexes, 13 condos (including 1 in option), and 16 townhomes (including 1 in option) for sale in Addison.
