The great State Fair of Texas opens this weekend in Dallas for the 2011 run and Big Tex will be there to greet the Addison Pacesetters, a group of Addison, Texas residents 50+ years of age.
We're going "green" this year and taking the Dart train to the fairgrounds. Meet at the ticket booth at the Beltline/Downtown Carrollton station on Thursday, October 13th, no later than 9:30 am and we'll ride the train downtown together. The return is scheduled for 3:00 pm.

Addison, Texas Pacesetters visited the Federal Bureau of Engraving in Fort Worth last week and we got to watch money being made. Their slogan is "the buck starts here" and it also starts in a facility in the Washington D.C. area. These are the only two places where the U.S. currency is printed.
Security is tight, and no cameras or cell phones are allowed in the building, so I can't show you pictures of the inside of the facility.

There's always something to do in Addison, Texas, especially if you're a resident 50+ years of age. Addison Pacesetters have a full schedule of activities. If you're a member of the Addison Athletic Club, you get the quarterly Accolade newsletter and the events are listed there.
