Why Living in the San Francisco area is so great - Reason #6 - 02/23/12 08:58 AM
Why Living in the San Francisco area is so great - Reason #6Golden Gate ParkPeople all over the country (and the world) know of San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. The Music Concourse, Japanese Tea Garden, Academy of Sciences, deYoung Museum, Stow Lake and the botanical gardens are visited by thousands on a daily basis. However, not many people know the numerous little paths and out-of-the-way places tucked into this treasured park. We love to explore our city and a recent hike through the park, from the Panhandle at the eastern edge to the ocean at the west, took us through in … (13 comments)

Why Living in the San Francisco area is so great - Reason #5 - 02/15/12 04:44 PM
Why Living in the San Francisco area is so great - Reason #5The lovely walk to my branch libraryThe small physical size of San Francisco and its many distinct neighborhoods creates an atmosphere conducive to walking. A short walk (7 blocks) from my house takes me to the Golden Gate Valley branch library, housed in a beautifully refurbished building and staffed with friendly, helpful librarians. Depending on my route, I can choose to take in some steep hills (great cardio workout!) or add a block for a more gentle route.
Whichever I choose, I can enjoy the lovely Victorian houses … (14 comments)

Why Living in the San Francisco area is so great - Reason #4East Meets West - The Year of the Dragon
Most Sunday mornings I start the day by walking to one of the Farmer's Markets. One of the largest ones is the Heart of the City Farmer's Market held at the United Nations' Plaza near the Civic Center.

There's always something going on in San Francisco--people to chat with and learn from, new ideas to ponder. I suspect this beautiful dragon will have a major role in the … (16 comments)

Ambition is a poor excuse ...... - 02/02/12 10:12 AM
Yesterday I posted some great quips of Steven Wright's that a friend sent me. Here are the rest:
16 - When everything is coming your way, you're in the wrong lane. 17 - Ambition is a poor excuse for not having enough sense to be lazy. 18 - Hard work pays off in the future; laziness pays off now. 19 - I intend to live forever....  So far, so good. 20 - If Barbie is so popular, why do you have to buy her friends? 21 - Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines. 22 - What happens … (29 comments)

Your Client's Home Also Reflects On You! - 02/01/12 07:59 AM
Check out this post from Joshua Stein, an Active Rain member who is just getting started here. He states well a common problem, and has the makings of a great blogger and contributor here.
Help me welcome him to the Rain!
Via Joshua Stein, Montgomery County Homes For Sale (Long & Foster Real Estate, Inc. - Blue Bell, PA):

So, what IS the speed of dark? - 02/01/12 07:20 AM
Don't you love e-mail? When I first log on in the morning, there's just no telling what will be waiting for me. Tucked in amongst the spam this morning I found the following:
If you're not familiar with the work of Steven Wright, he's the famous Erudite (comic) scientist who once said: "I woke up one morning, and all of my stuff had been stolen and replaced by exact duplicates.
His mind sees things differently than most of us do. . .
Here are some of his gems: 1 - I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize. 2 - Borrow money from … (16 comments)
