It's that time of year again, 100,000 FREE pick-your-own tulips at Union Square, San Francisco.
Yes, that's correct. On Saturday, March 7, over 100,000 tulips will cover Union Square in San Francisco. Best of all, you're invited to visit the site and pick your own bunch of tulips to take home.
A gift from Dutch flower bulb trader Royal Anthos, iBulb.org and the Consulate General of the Netherlands in San Francisco, they are transporting thousands of multicolor tulips to the bustling tourist area of Union Square.

Both lovers of classical music and those wanting to see what classical music is all about have a FREE treat in store for them on Friday evening, Feburary 21, 2020, at 7:30 PM.
The San Francisco Chamber Orchestra (SFCO) will be presenting a 90-minute concert at the Herbst Theatre on Van Ness Avenue, across from City Hall and next door to the Opera House. There will be games, prizes and a trivia quiz and, of course, great music, featuring variations on familiar themes by Mozart, Haydn, Schubert and more.

We're fortunate in San Francisco to have many various types of programs available to us, often at no cost. Be it the Stern Grove Festival with free performances every summer Sunday afternoon, to Hardly-Strictly Bluegrass, a two-day festival held every fall in Golden Gate Park, to programs in the beautiful Presidio of San Francisco, they are here, waiting for us.

Off the Grid and the Presidio Trust have again this year joined forces to bring "Presidio Picnic" to the Main Parade Ground lawn providing Sunday fun for all.
This event is held every Sunday beginning in mid-March; the last one in 2017 will be October 29.
