The ActiveRain Point System - 11/30/09 04:53 PM
Have you wondered why your blog posts are given 225 points instead of 200 points?  Here is another great blog from Brad Andersohn that breaks it all down for us.

The ActiveRain Point System
ActiveRain awards members points based on participation and their individual involvement within the network and community.  While there is a much more complicated and technical explanation of how the point system works, this post is to provide you a general overview of how points are earned and distributed that to ALL ActiveRain members.
ActiveRain points are earned based on a members individual … (2 comments)

Loving the Senior Citizens Property Tax Exemption or are you? - 11/30/09 02:53 PM
Loving the Senior Citizens Property tax Exemption, or are you?  It depends on whether or not you are the owner, receiving the exemption or the buyer about to purchase the property.
There is something that all buyers should be aware of when purchasing property in King County, Washington that is currently being taxed with a Senior Citizens Exemption.  The County will remove the exemption based on the date of the Statutory Warranty Deed and then bill the buyer.  In the past, I have heldback the anticipated additional tax at closing and then coordinated with the County after closing and paid the … (0 comments)

Mystical Monday in Redondo Washington - 11/30/09 02:13 PM
I am blessed to be living in a beautiful spot.  I took this photo the morning of the 23rd of November here in Redondo, Washington.   We are known for our rainfall, but really we should be known for our diverse weather and beauty.
Redondo is a neighborhood in Federal Way Washington, 18 miles south of Seattle.  To view the fall events that are planned for this year, click here.
Thanks for taking the time to check this out and have a terrific day!

Thank you  Brad Andersohn for providing exactly what I have been looking for:  The ability to increase my font and add color to my blogs.  I have found alot of other bloggers asking for this very same thing, so re-blog it I must.
I have already switched internet browsers to Firefox like you have suggested and now am going to work on the Scribefire application.
Thanks again!!

Escrow Officer & Granddaughter model the new creations - 11/23/09 07:37 PM
My granddaughter and I are sporting a couple of the scarves that I whipped up after getting so very inspired at a signing at a sellers place of business, recently.  Did you see this earlier blog about All Points Yarn?
My granddaughter loves her new scarf and I am now working on a much larger special project for a special someone (can't say much about it yet).
I really want to thank Morgan at All Point Yarns in Des Moines for awakening my creative interests.  I can hardly wait to see where my next signing takes me!

Julie shares her 5 Generation photo with you - 11/19/09 11:30 AM
Yes, here we are!  From my Grandma down to my Granddaughter - 5 generations, this was quite a moment as you might expect.
My Gram passed this last year, but she certainly would have been thrilled that I took my 31 years of experience in real estate and opened Booth Escrow, LLC.
You see, she loved small business.  My mother owned her own small business in Silverdale, Washington while I was growing up and my Gram worked for Mom as her receptionist for many years.  It was during this time that she got her driver's license and became a truly independent woman.

Virtual RE Bar Camp is going on today - Glenn Sanford talked about the Real Estate Office of the Future - 11/17/09 05:09 PM
I attended 4 segments of the Virtual Real Estate Bar camp today.  Glenn Sanford talked about the Real Estate Office of the Future, which is essentially going to be (if it is not already) your home office.
Glenn recited a stat that put a new perspective on the store front office space:  "The carbon footprint of a bricks and mortor office contributes 3 - 6 tons of CO2 emissions per year per employee".  There is a current tax in Europe that ranges from $25 - $100 per ton of CO2 emissions.
That is really significant, isn't it?  I wonder who will fill all … (2 comments)

In keeping with my newer tradition of sharing music with you as you blog on this Fabulous Friday afternoon, I am sharing Time and Tide sung by Basia - I am pretty sure this is 80's music.  But her voice is increadible.  How could you not love it?

The City of Tacoma's Tax Abatement Program is working. (?) - 11/13/09 06:02 PM
Buyers only need to pay taxes on the land portion of certain properties for up to 12 years.
The City wants to encourage the development of multifamily housing in Tacoma's seventeen Mixed-Use Centers.  In the case of my current escrow, the buyer will only have to pay property taxes based on the land value for the next 10 years.  Now that is great incentive, especially in this market place.  You can get more information of this program by clicking here.
I am presently closing on my 2nd escrow involving this tax exemption or abatement as it is also called.  In the previous … (0 comments)

Beautiful Rainbow off Vashon as seen in Redondo, Washington - 11/13/09 03:55 PM
As I was getting ready for work on Tuesday, I glanced out the window and was lucky enough to catch this rainbow as it was gathering strength.
I have read a number of blogs about the expensive real estate in the Puget Sound area, but you cannot deny the beauty provided throughout the Great Pacific Northwest.
The land just to the left of this rainbow is Vashon Island.
Too beautiful not to share!  Enjoy your Friday.

Social Media Buttons and Icons - Is Someone Pushing Your Buttons? - 11/07/09 01:05 PM
I have often wondered, how do people learn all this stuff?  How do I get my Facebook and my Linked in and my Active Rain to "talk" to each other?  Here it is, all put together in what appears to be an easy to follow instruction.  Thank you Brad Andersohn for putting this together for us!

Back at Friday afternoon - another song for you! - 11/06/09 02:42 PM
Last Friday I decided I would start sharing some of what I consider remarkable music with you.  This Friday's tune comes from Billie Holiday and even if you have seen it once, you will want to see it again.  So kick back while you are busy blogging and enjoy this great moment in time.
Let me know what you think.  Enjoy the weekend!
