A "ticker tape" parade will be held tomorrow to celebrate the 27th World Series title in grand New York fashion up the Canyon of Heroes.  Congratulatory cheers and confetti will bombard the New York Yankees as they parade from the Battery to City Hall amidst a sea of fans.  Mayor Bloomberg (elected Tuesday for his third term) will present the keys to the city to the champs at a City Hall ceremony right after the triumphant march.  It will be the 178th ticker-tape parade on Broadway, and about 20 office buildings on Broadway will get stacks of shredded recyclable paper to toss down.  New Yorkers are pumped for the parade and ready to celebrate Our New York Yankees World Series win!!

The new Yankee Stadium was officially christened last night with its World Series Title, 86  years after Babe Ruth and company won the first of 26 championships in the old Yankee Stadium.  The Yankees beat the Philadelphia Phillies 7-3 as slugger Hideki Matsui had his greatest game ever, earning the Series' Most Valuable Player Award.

It was the first Yankee World Series championship since they beat the Mets in 2000. The fans went wild and were thrilled by the Yankees' Game 6 triumph at their grand new $1.5 billion stadium.  A sign in the stands read "New Home, Same Destiny".

Thank you New York Yankees,  again you have made New Yorkers proud!!!
