Another ActiveRain Discovery or Just a Hidden Secret - 05/30/08 12:57 PM
What am I on about..... Well, you know how every now and again, here on ActiveRain you discover a previously unknown fact, or secret or talent. Well I found one today. While deliving around AR, I was on the about page and discovered that AR has a new Graphic Designer Glindon Marten who will "be responsible for "prettying" up much of the ActiveRain site and Localism as well as designing some cool ActiveRain branded gear (t-shirts, mugs, etc). (Off subject - can't wait for my mug and T-shirt) So, what's so good about Glindon, well it would seem that he is a rather good (my (1 comments)
Green, Green and more Green - A Cleaner Planet - 05/26/08 04:14 PM
I am not one for "banging on my drum" about turning green or saving the environment or green house gases. That said, I am all for "Green Building" or Environmental Friendly Building" on the basis that it makes sense and why would you not go green in this case. Since when was building a home to be durable, energy efficient, built from renewable materials and with a low toxic content a bad thing. If we turn this around, you have got the following. A poorly built home that is wasting money through poor insulation and energy efficiency that is made from materials that (2 comments)
Silence the neighbor........hood! - 05/26/08 11:33 AM
I saw this and it made me smile. I, like a few other people probably like moving the yard. The two downsides to it can be the noise and on the old occassion starting the mower. Being from the UK, it is not uncommon to see an electric mower with extension cable trialling behind, awaiting to be cut in half. And remember the UK is a 240v domestic system, so you will feel it. Anyway, I have never seen a battery operated mover........ Introducing the Neuton® Battery Mower
Neuton, located in Vergennes, Vermonts, tarted producing these mowers in 1985. "Perhaps it (4 comments)

When I first joined ActiveRain, I remember seeing a post about someone's 100th post. I thought 'WOW" how do you get there. The answer in my case was time. I then decided to review my blogs to see how and if they had changed, along the way I gathered the statistics below. I think that even after a 100 postes that my blog is still true to it's blog description " Number of Blogs: 99 Number of times My Profile viewed:1038 Number of Subscriptions to My Blog: 4 Thanks to - J. On Monday, May 26, 2008 The LPGA Tour arrives at RiverTowne Country Club in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina for the Ginn Tribute hosted by Annika Sorenstam. Annika Sorenstam will always be its hostess, but her announcement on the 13th May that she will be stepping away from competitive golf at the end of the year means that the 2008 Ginn Tribute Hosted by ANNIKA, will be her final chance to win her own tournament. With the final field set, Annika will rival World No. 1 Lorena Ochoa, last year's inaugural Ginn Tribute Hosted by ANNIKA (2 comments)
New Stop Light - Traffic Warning - 05/21/08 10:36 PM
For those of you who travel the area frequently, you will have noticed that a new Stop Light has been installed at the intersection of Clements Ferry Road and Cainhoy Road, Berkeley County.
This is an improvement to the junction of these roads, especially if you are turning from Cainhoy Road on to Clements ferry Road towards Mount Pleasant. The reasoning behind it, I'm not sure. There have been a few accidents at that spot and there is more traffic coming down Cainhoy Road with the addition of new subdivisions like Brightwood Plantation.

Whooops - 05/14/08 07:24 PM
I'm posting this more for it's visual aspects than anything else. My wife and I were on our way to a property auction in downtown Charleston today. A couple of blocks before we got to our destination we passed this. It was enough to make me stop and get the camera out.
As I don't know the reason it has been left like this a present, I think it's use must be for a caption competition. No prizes, but have fun. "Property has an airy feel to the first floor" (11 comments)
