payson: I just have to brag about the gorgeous weather in Payson, AZ right now. - 07/25/11 02:09 PM
Where in the heck is Payson, AZ you might ask? Half the people in Arizona don't know where Payson is, even though its only about an hour's drive North of Phoenix. We're one of Arizona's best kept secrets- a small town in a great location. Payson is also about 5,000

payson: Small Town Fourth of July in Payson, AZ! - 07/02/10 04:51 PM
Payson, AZ is a small town. Last census showed just under 16,000 (not sure what the current one will show). Now there are some drawbacks to a very small town. Where do we shop besides WalMart? Not too many places.
BUT...(and it's a HUGE but) there is NOTHING like a small

We also put a fence out front (split rail, with wire tacked on) to keep

We have had an unusually cool Spring in Payson. Well. actually we have alternated cool (even snow!) with really warm. The weather has slowed down my garden, and I imagine I'm not alone in that. Hopefully SOME of the growers who will sell at the Farmers Market live in areas

payson: May flowers from my garden - 05/05/10 04:23 PM
These all came from my garden on May Day. They may not look too impressive. But when you consider that we actually had a little SNOW on May Day, it becomes more so.
Payson weather is always rather unpredictable. You know the saying-"if you don't like the weather wait 5 minutes-

If you garden, you know it's not too early to be planning and ordering seeds. For cool season crops, seedlings need to be started SOON, at least in our area.
If you live in or near Payson, Arizona, consider planting a few extra veggies to sell at the Farmers Market.

Yes, even in Arizona! We are only about an hour's drive from the edge of the Phoenix metro area, but at 5,000 ft elevation Payson gets a few snows a year. It snows, it looks lovely, and then it is GONE before it gets nasty.
