I was happy to take the listing because it was going to give me an opportunity to help some very nice people out of a sticky situation, but on my end I was expecting the worst. I had heard such nightmare stories about dealing with the banks, time lines for closing deals taking as long as 6 months, and having so much extra work and the bank drastically cutting the commissions. I talked with the bank this morning and was pleasantly surprised. They were very nice and full of great information. They seemed eager to work with me and my clients and state that the time lines for closing usually take 30-45 days. They also stated that as long as closing costs were normal for the market place, including commissions, that everything would be taken care of. Of course I have not gotten to the point of submitting and offer but I can honestly say that I am now looking forward to not only learning from this experience but having a pleasant experience dealing with the bank and being able to help my clients navigate this new territory we find ourselves in. I also am looking foward to keeping you updated on the process so we all can learn together.
