Speechless Sundays - Flying in Style - 01/24/10 09:43 AM
Flying in style - Recently on a trip overseas I flew Turkish Airlines.  Though the flight was very delayed and I got to spend several hours getting intimately acquainted with the airport, once we finally took off, the flight was great and the service on the flight (unlike the ground service) was A-1.
Maybe because I haven't flown outside the country for awhile, I found the aircraft to be a real improvement over past flights.  I flew with the simple folk in economy - but for those flying in style here's what the business/first class cabin looks like these days.  It … (23 comments)

Wordless Wednesday - The Aqueduct - 01/20/10 10:37 PM
These Photos were taken along the shores of the Mediterranean Sea in Caesarea at the remains of the Roman Aqueduct.

It was built by Herod the Great about 25–13 BC and spanned 13 miles.

These ruins lie on the Mediterranean coast of Israel about halfway between the cities of Tel Aviv and Haifa.

The city was named Caesarea, in honor of Augustus Caesar.

The most needed item, of coarse, is money.  If you'd like to contribute, checks can be made out to "Ramapo Haitian Task Force" and mailed to:

Speechless Sunday- Sunset Over the Mediterranean - 01/17/10 08:22 PM
There is something almost magical about watching the sun set. I don't often get a chance to capture it on film and I definitely don't often have the chance to watch it set over the Mediterranean Sea.
Both these shots were taken minutes apart.  As the sun sinks and gets close to disappearing the light also changes and gives the dky a whole new and different look.
Sunset in Caesarea, Israel.

Both photos were taken on a recent trip to Israel, in Caesarea, on the Mediterranean.

The Haiti Disaster - A Wake up Call - 01/16/10 08:31 PM
Several years ago, while vacationing in Israel, I was hit by a bus. I lost my footing, fell into the street onto the path of an oncoming bus that didn't see me. I had just a couple of seconds to assess the situation and knew that there was no way that I had enough time to get up and out of the way. I managed to roll out of the direct line of fire and instead of running over me, the edge of the bus's outer wheels rolled over my right upper side.
The six broken ribs that resulted were a … (9 comments)

Raincamp NY 2010 from beginning to end was just a great.  One of the highlights of the day was a panel of activerain bloggers sharing some thoughts about blogging and social media.  The three member panel was made up of star bloggers Sheldon Neal (our British agent), Pat Kennedy and Cindy Jones.  Questions to them were posed by Brad Andersohn and Bob Stewart.
How much time do these star bloggers spend on Activerain and blogging?
Check out what they have to say.
