Mortgage Rates And The Downgrade Of The US Soverign Credit Rating - 07/31/08 09:38 AM
Yesterday there was some comment made by a government offical defending the US soverign credit rating. The only time you defend something indicates that it in fact hangs in the balance. If the US AAA credit rating is downgraded probably all American connected debt will be negatively affected. The Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac trillion dollar or more bailout on top of the current $482 billion deficit and the reported 44,000 increase in jobless claims certainly puts the US in a position of a downgrade of interest. Speaking of "bailout", there are indications that Americans are selling any assets they have … (2 comments)

California Earthquake - July 29, 2008 Still No Sun Spots - 07/29/08 07:51 PM
"It's getting spooky, no sun spots" was a quote from a solar geek. In one of our past blogs we indicated that the lack of sun spot activity may be a prelude to another solar cycle ice age. The last solar ice age occured around the 1500's and lasted till the early 20th century. Recent 11 year solar cycles have been very active emitting vast amounts of radiation. Using weather on earth as an example, clashes occur where hot meets cold and we suspect that past high solar radiation is now meeting low solar radiation. It therefore follows that the earth … (2 comments)

Stock Market, It's Not Batman But It Is A Sequel With A Joker - 07/27/08 07:29 AM
A tumultuous response to our blog "The Only Way To Make Money In The Stock Market" definitely demands a sequel. The formula also works in reverse since 3 X - 4 X average daily volumn when a stock is trading at it's high means that the risk exceeds the reward and should be sold. We recommended that you just take a 75% profit and walk away and go on to the next stock, but if you use the "risk to reward ratio" both ways, a 300% profit is not out of the question. Aah, the joker..."Jesus in pin stripes" or the … (2 comments)

The Only Way To Make Money In The Stock Market - 07/27/08 12:18 AM
There is only one way to make money in the stock market and most people know this. Simply buy low and sell high, but human nature gets in the way. Judging from the many blog comments that we receive there is not a chance in hell you will do WHAT I TELL YOU! I don't do what I tell you in many cases...HUMAN NATURE...Okay. we are more famous than you will ever realize and the media and wall street knows our formula...It's called "risk to reward ratio" by the way we no longer invest in the market because it's to damn … (4 comments)

Doom, Gloom And The Third Piggy - 07/24/08 08:05 PM
I guess the only thing to watch now is the US dollar. It has gone from the dollar index of 120 to where it is currently trading at around 72. Some say that there are two more steps down, first to 62 and then to 52. What is that 52 / 120, hell 60 means those who own dollars have lost half their relative wealth. There was a time when a weak dollar was very positive like back when we had manufacturing now its just 14 % of gdp. The US could lower the dollar and Americans would not feel the … (0 comments)

37 % Of US Banks To Fail - 07/20/08 11:25 PM
Historically 37% of US banks will fail and the FDIC insurance fund is not prepared to handle such a crisis. Expectations would be that the FDIC would begin to pay off the insured with non negotiable US treasuries that must be held for a period of time. Bottom Line is that you would not have access to your money immediately. Again there is historical precedence for this as well. This is not new information but a reminder from previous blogs. I am retired and in the summer months play in my world class butterfly garden and at other times it's playing … (1 comments)

New England Realtors And The Financial Crisis - 07/15/08 07:56 AM
The financial news is pretty bleak today and appears to be reaching a culmination of pretty much what our many blogs had been predicting. The scaring part is that the bad news occurs during the summer months when the blood pressure is the lowest indicating that the collapse is being orchestrated to maintain a modicum of social calm. Obviously many are wondering what to do with some new england states in various prepartions for a failed state. So we would recommend that one consider relocation to this area and realtors should be made aware of the potential growth. … (3 comments)

Freddie & Fannie Too Big To Pail - 07/13/08 08:21 PM
Working through the weekend the us treasury and federal reserve are attempting to shore up the quasi government mortgage giants. The fact of the matter is that fannie and freddie are holding trillions of dollars of mortgages (guarantees) in various designs and risk. The expected losses in their portfolio are simply to large to bail them out. So huge are the projected losses that by the time the printing presses paid out 66.6% they would have to stop running to wait for a new currency to be created with a probability that another iou note would not be accepted in the … (1 comments)
