Meet with the new buyers after they move in and offer to host a <em>"meet the new neighbors drop-in&nbsp;brunch or afternoon drop-in"</em> from 9-11am or&nbsp;2-4 pm&nbsp;for them so they can meet their new neighbors so they can start making new friends.&nbsp; Ask them when they want to do this for them. &nbsp;</p> <p>2. Then contact a local restaurant to get them to go in with you by providing some breakfast or afternoon&nbsp;treats.&nbsp; Make sure that they know that you will giving them all the credit for the refreshments and that this is a great opportunity for the restaurant to pick up a new repeat customer. &nbsp;</p> <p>3. Then deliver invitations to all of their new neighbors with your contact information and the information about the refreshments that you will be serving.&nbsp; Ask for an optional but not required RSVP so you can get a better handle on how many to prepare for. &nbsp;</p> <p>4. After spending over 20 years in manufacturing, many with Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies, I walked away wowed by what they are creating with their world-class, futuristic&nbsp;facility for economic development activities.</p><p>From the moment you drive up to the main facility and see the impressive fountains and visual displays, you feel like you are at Epcot at Disney.&nbsp; And once inside, this feeling really hits you with the 3-D animation technology and 3-D modeling that they are doing.&nbsp; They even have the virtual screens like seen on the Super Tuesday political returns and on that Tom Cruise movie (Minority Report) where he stands in the room and pulls pictures from the computer and physically manipulates them all over the big screen.</p><p>The facility in place now is the showplace for the remaining 7 facilities planned for the 146 acre tract and is quite a showplace with 177,000 square feet including an 800 capacity theater and 900 capacity banquet room including 4 large screens and a full kitchen.&nbsp; Also, included in the facility are machining centers, modeling centers, audio visual centers and plenty of labs for companies to come in and develop new technologies all right in Florence, SC.</p><p>The institute was partly funded through some military ventures and is a 'for profit' business with partnerships with 6 international companies including EMCO and EON corporations.&nbsp; In the facility, you will find state-of-the-art technology that only exists in 6 countries throughout the world and the one one in the US at the present time.</p><p>The next facility planned will be the incubation facility that will house up to 8 businesses looking to develop a new concept to production that will have to location in the Florence/Darlington county area once fully production-ready.&nbsp; Additional facilities will house chemical engineering, management training, health and safety facilities, etc.</p><p>Also, if you have a concept that you would like to develop, give them a call!&nbsp; </p><p>In case you need a great mortgage and your bank is closed, call me!&nbsp; We're open to serve you.&nbsp; :)<br><br>I noticed in The Charlotte Observer on Saturday that Charlotte's average home price for 2007 was a bit higher than it was in 2006, but did that make the headline?&nbsp; You guessed it.&nbsp; The headline was "National slump hit home in 2007".&nbsp; The headline and beginning of the article talked about Charlotte's home sales dropping 11% from 2006 which is better than the national average of a 13% drop in sales. &nbsp; Also mentioned was that the national median price dropped a whopping 1.3%.&nbsp; <em>Really?</em>&nbsp;<em> Is that all?</em>&nbsp; From the things I hear and read in the papers, I thought it was around 20% off!!! &nbsp; If you have any influence over the media, please help them see that they are the main reason we are in a 'slump'. And, help them see that it's really not bad unless you live in some areas that have extenuating circumstances.&nbsp; &nbsp; Let's all be as positive as we can anytime we talk to anyone about our market.&nbsp;
