Hello friends and neighbors:
...I won't be running- I've got bad knees and think it's boring. But my lovely wife will, for the second consecutive year, be running in the Chicago Marathon. After losing her grandfather mid-2007 she continued her promise to him to finish her first marathon. However, you'll possibly recall the absurd heat in October when the marathon took place and the fact that they called the race early.(when she was at mile 18ish)Well she's back to training and is aiming to raise $2,000 for the National Hospice Foundation- through their Run to Remember program an organization that was very good … (2 comments)

Kennedy Homes has pulled out of Coal City where it was building Richard's Crossing subdivision. The home builder which ran billboards and signs boasting "Big Homes- Less Money" for nearly two years in the Coal City area has left....hardly to be heard from.
Kennedy Homes, which generated $214 million in sales in 2006 and was the area's 11th largest home builder, according to Crain's Chicago Business, would join Warrenville-based Neumann Homes on the bankruptcy circuit but has filed suit against some of the Chicago-area's top banks. Next year the Chicago Blackhawks will play 82 games....all televised! (All in High-def for that matter)
Now I'm sure this seems like no big deal to most that would read it. But you probably don't know that in my entire lifetime (since 1979) the Blackhawks have not televised their home games! On occasion, they do air a few- especially in recent years...but by and large- 35+ games a year are not seen by the home area (minus the games one happens to be in attendance).
The Blackhawks will air on ComcastSportsNet and WGN-Ch. 9.
