With all the federal budget cuts looming ever larger, folks who own property on any of the nation's beaches will probably see some significant price increases in 2014. A law called the Biggert-Waters Flood Insurance Reform Act of 2012 was passed a while back that would eventually eliminate federal subsidies for oceanfront or flood zones along the coast. The plan is to phase out all government flood insurance programs over time, and will likely result in some large increases over the next few years - as homeowners will eventually pay the full price for flood prone property premiums.

homeowners insurance: Mobile, Modular, and Manufactured Homes - 02/15/10 04:21 AM
Have you ever wondered or been asked by a buyer exactly what the difference is between a "modular" home and a "mobile" home?  
You may also hear the terms "manufactured home" or "pre-fab home".
These terms seem to be catch-all phrases to encompass anything that is not a "stick-built" house, which is the builder's lingo for a home that is built from scratch on a piece of property, and not in a factory.
 
 
 
So what exactly is the difference?  After researching the different types of alternative-built homes, I've discovered the answer.  And, my findings might surprise you!

One good thing about making websites for different businesses is that you are forced to learn about many things due to exposure!  Insurance has never interested me much, except how I can get by with as little as possible and as cheaply as possible.  Several years ago I bought a TBird convertible and set about to find the cheapest SC car insurance I could find.  I ended up moving from 20 years at Nationwide to Allstate, and saving (no kidding) ONE-HALF of the premium.
