Agents across the country are looking for positive signs that the real estate markets are ready for their investors. Of course, nobody has a crystal ball that gives the ability to predict the future of real estate. The contractor finished up the last few tweaks, and the city is ready to accept visitors. Have you ever wondered or been asked by a buyer exactly what the difference is between a "modular" home and a "mobile" home? You may also hear the terms "manufactured home" or "pre-fab home". These terms seem to be catch-all phrases to encompass anything that is not a "stick-built" house, which is the builder's lingo for a home that is built from scratch on a piece of property, and not in a factory.

I had an epiphany tonight.
Being an ardent Hillary Clinton fan, I had occasion with this past election to become more interested in politics than I ever have been. I have spent more time arguing with hard-core Republicans and conservatives than I like to think about. Arguing politics is probably one of the biggest wastes of time that exists. I don't think anyone will ever convert a person from one way of thinking to the other by discussing it.

I received an email today from a customer through Active Rain about Myrtle Beach real estate, and was astounded at the question they asked. I won't include names, but below is the body of that email, and my response back to them.
I cannot imagine any ethical real estate agent advising a customer to sell a resort property or any other kind of real estate right now. Even Donald Trump is yelling "buy, buy, buy".

Our local paper reported some interesting figures from the US Census Bureau tonight. Seems that most of the Myrtle Beach and Grand Strand area is reporting a sizeable increase in permanent residents.
Although it cautioned that some of the figures are not quite accurate because of retirees buying ahead of time, it still sounded like good news for Myrtle Beach real estate sales, now and in the future.
I'm rounding off the numbers in the interest of space and time...

In an effort to offset the higher gas prices and boost vacation sales for Myrtle Beach condos and resorts, several are taking advantage of "gas rebates".
The Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce sent out a newsletter today that mentions some nice discounts and rebates being offered by Ocean Creek Resort, Grande Dunes, and others.
Like the old-time marketing of timeshares, this would be an ideal way for anyone interested in looking at Myrtle Beach real estate to take advantage of the discounts to visit for a few days and view some properties.

Wall Street Journal columnist Cyril Moulle-Berteaux predicts the real estate slump will end in 2008, in his recent opinion column The Housing Crisis is Over.
He makes a very good argument for his opinion, reminding us that the current housing bust is now nearly 3 years old!
