Today's Relo Seminar - 02/22/07 03:48 PM
As a member of a couple of real estate associations I take advantage of every educational opportunity possible. Today's seminar was about relocation. Its a big deal for banks, corporations and real estate companies specializing in re-lo. The implication for stagers seemed to be another way to tap into a source of business. Banks, and corporations who are caught up in the relo business have an interest in moving properties as soon as possible. One bank presenting today said their "inventory" was higher than they liked. There were implications across the board from appraisal business, agents, corporate clients moving employees around

Thanks for the comments! - 02/19/07 03:49 PM
Thank all of you who have commented on my blogs. You (we) are such a positive lot, and in a very constructive way. What an incredible learning environment. How different we are and yet so much alike in the obstacles we face on a daily basis and being a part of this group "makes the sum of the parts greater than the whole." I have not commented on the comments because I didn't know to do it, but in the future I will. :)

As promised--the definition of a Hamlet - 02/19/07 02:56 PM
A "HAMLET" as a designation, for a populated group in a specific geographic area, is technically a farmstead, or a group of farmsteads as defined by old English tradition. It can be small, in acres or miles, or it can be spread out over quite a distance of miles. A hamlet in English tradition had no church to unify the inhabitants of the roughly defined area. It has no public water, no unifying roads, no official boundries and for this reason does not reach the level of village status. We do have a post office at the top of Afton Mountain

For that reason, and for the fact that personality quirks on the part on all the players ,along with changing homeowner situations make for a continually new experience. On top of that no two days are even remotely alike. Some people thrive on routine, predictability and a steady continuum. I never understood that. Home staging is really dynamic and suits me to a tee. Not only do

Life in Rural Nelson County, Virginia - 02/15/07 08:35 PM
Nelson County, Virginia has come of age. I was born here and it was , at that time, one of the poorest counties in the U. S. and it was the poorest in Virginia. We installed the first traffic light in the county last year. This is not the only sign that things have changed, despite the fact that there is still no countywide DSL to promote economic development. The "outside world" has discovered the stunning, natural beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains which so defines and characterizes Nelson Couty. People from everywhere are moving in literally from the four corners of the world. This has
