creative: Bloggers beware! Copyright battle might be coming - 07/02/08 01:58 AM
Here's a helpful warning to bloggers: "Be prepared." It's the Boy Scout motto and it's also good advice for people in all walks of life. It appears that many bloggers, myself included, are a little unprepared for the possibility of close scrutiny of blogging. What if we were told that we had used too much of someone else's news article in our blog entry or that we got our facts wrong and are guilty of negligence or even defamation? It's a scary thought, but that's the risk we take in offering our work in a public environment.Have you noticed that, as bloggers,

creative: Estate of the art: Combine art and luxury real estate - 06/13/08 03:54 PM
Check out this great article I recently read in the Arizona Daily Star, entitled "Home, art inside are both for sale." I think the sellers in this article are onto something pretty smart by joining forces with a local art museum to sell their property.Author Christie Smythe points out that showing art in a home can be beneficial for both the artists and the home sellers. Beautiful paintings, sculptures and other pieces of art can add something special to a home that makes it more memorable to potential buyers. Plus, the artists receive exposure to new viewers and their works of

creative: Confusation: Is now a good time to buy a home? - 04/15/08 04:12 PM
I would like to share a confusation with you. What's a confusation? It's a mixture of confusion and conversation. I'm all for preserving the English language and avoiding the addition of new and pointless slang terms. But, at the same time, I enjoy having a little bit of fun with ideas and rules because of my playful nature. I would like to share some of my thoughts in an open, possibly random, way. So, without further ado, let's begin our confusation.According to a CNN article entitled "Majority not buying homes, poll shows," an Associated Press-AOL Money & Finance poll found that

creative: What’s on the real-estate forecast? Perhaps a change - 12/31/07 05:50 PM
Predicting the future is a tricky game, as you can easily see from the failure of many experts last year to predict the problems this year in this Inman News article, entitled "2007 real estate forecaster report card." I don't expect people to be perfect and so it's completely understandable even for experts to make mistakes from time to time. But here's my question: Why do these experts spend time trying to predict things that they ultimately have little ability to control? Why not devote more time to simply suggesting good courses of action for regular people to take? That would

creative: For your consideration: New real-estate term - Hondo - 12/14/07 04:41 PM
Working in luxury real estate, I have noticed a great number of terms being used that I like but that I think could be better. For instance, in the Winter 2008 issue of LuxuryRealEstate.com Magazine, I wrote an editorial on hotel condos. A hotel condo is a condominium located inside a hotel. People actually own their own hotel room and they can receive all the benefits of hotel living whenever they like. It's a great concept, really. While writing this editorial, I felt a little awkward naming this property type, so I decided to try coming up with a better name.Condo
