inspiration: Do you have an answer to "How Big is God?" - 06/17/08 03:19 PM
Some 40 + years ago I heard a song that has stayed in my heart, soul and mind that I hope to never forget. The song is originally written by Stuart Hamblin and speaks to so many questions we are willing to ask as children but as we "mature" we choose not to ask such "foolish" questions. It really makes me realize why it is that God teaches us that having the faith like a child is so much closer to where He desires His children to be. The song Stuart Hamblin wrote asks the question, and is named, "How Big

inspiration: This one's for Debra A. Brooks, Texas Waterfront Specialist - 05/28/08 09:34 PM
Deb was kind enough to listen to a still small voice after reading one of my post and attached a picture of A Black Eyed Susan in her comment. It came at a special time for me as I had planted (for the first time ever) some Black Eyed Susans in my flower garden. Well guess what, mine finally bloomed and it stood up proud and tall in front of some daisies and I wanted to share them back to her as well as all. I believe if we are positive about shareing the good things with our family we can

inspiration: Will you tell the world you are a Christian? - 05/05/08 10:27 PM
Yeasterday while sitting at church, we sang a song that I had not heard in a long time. It is called "I Have Decided To Follow Jesus" and while this is important to us in our own daily walk through this world, there is a song that came to mind as I drove to work that seems to be more about others than about me. It talks about letting others see Jesus in and through us because we will tell them about who He is. I'll Tell The World That I'm a Christian was written by someone who I had the joy of

inspiration: This one's for Dorene Shirley Silicon Valley Real Estate - 05/02/08 05:04 AM
I promised Dorene yesterday that I would post a picture for her and started thinking that, yes she was who I was responding to but realized that we all need to be reminded of the fact that our Lord wants us to be happy and will lauggh with us when He can. Yesterday, Dorene shared a joke with us as (I believe) she needed something to make her smile. Well I know this picture will give her the chance to smile and continue to smile. Everyday as we walk, run, stumble, or fall flat on our faces, God is there to care

inspiration: Recent Group Name Change - 04/28/08 08:02 AM
Recently one of the groups I like to participate with had it's name changed. Neal Bloom-Realtor ® Assoc.-CRS-Weston FL decided to change it after some things happening which did not really follow the guidelines in which it had been established. After changing the name of the group, Neal is being put down because he is taking a stand to keep our community holding to a finer standard. I want to say that if this group, now being called "Almost Anything Goes" has a leader or the one who established the group with principals designed to promote quality ideas and content wanting

inspiration: For Them "These Four Walls Won't Fall Down" On Them - 04/27/08 07:50 PM
I would like to share an article printed in Newsweek a couple weeks ago about two young men that will make an impact on the lives of many people. Peter Brewin and William Crawford are making news because they saw a need and acted on it. Having visite a refugee camp in Uganda opened their eyes to the fact that so many of the people in this world are not fortunate to own even a semblance of what we call a home. Seeing this caused them to design a new material for quickly creating more durable homes for a little cost

inspiration: Jim Hammond Knives (A Practical Artist) - 04/25/08 10:35 AM
Have you ever known an artist who takes their artwork to the level of being able to use their artwork for something practical and useful? My best friend is one of the few artists in the world who has the gift to to go to that level. Jim Hammond is an artist who displays his artwork in the form of knives, both for display and for usefulness. Maybe you want the beauty of history shown in something to display as in the collector's Bowie below. Or maybe you would rather have something to use in the profession you have choosen or been chosen

inspiration: Dorene Shirley asked a question yesterday. - 04/22/08 09:22 AM
Yesterday in a blog posted by Dorene Shirley, she asked a question that we all should be asking and persuing with every part of our life. The question basically asked how to effectively pass on to the next generations a legacy that will assist in making their world a better place. Recently I read a book "The Generosity Factor" by Ken Blanchard ("The One Minute Manager") and S. Truett Cathy (founder of Chick-Fil-A) that discussed this in a very short and to the point easy read. The next week I received a book from a friend (and professor at the college

inspiration: Spring Inspiration and Positive Views about Lori Taylor, ABR, CSP, e-PRO (Grayson, Georgia) - 04/14/08 07:52 AM
I just wanted to take the time to share a friend of mine who has given me the chance to do well in our chosen work environment. Lori Taylor was first met, as I began my real estate career, as the associate broker in our office. I didn't have any idea what associate broker really meant. After working with Lori for a couple months, I realized that, for her and myself, it meant caring for people and assisting them along life's ways. Little did I know that her caring, positive attitude would continue with me as I moved from place to

inspiration: Spring Inspirations and Positive Views with a BIG Thank You to All! - 04/13/08 07:39 AM
Being new to Active Rain, I will make mistakes as I learn what works best for the community. In doing so, I get to be the lucky one to have new friends who assist in making the entrance into this community a successful one. As I have started posting blogs (and having a lot of fun doing so), I am blessed to have people be emboldened enough to share assistance (because they have already made some of the same mistakes) with me. This is one of the aspects that already show up in a community in just the few weeks I am

inspiration: Christmas brings Spring Inspiration and Positive Views of the Claus' - 04/12/08 09:29 PM
Just wanted to share one of the reasons why spring is so many times looked forward to. Some of us still believe in Santa and want to speed time up so that we can see him again. As you can see in the picture, Santa is telling everyone to relax, refresh, that everything goes better with Coke, even springtime. If you look at the picture below, you will notice that Pop Claus has fun with Mom Claus. They enjoy getting together with friends, family, etc. (this includes all people) for a good time. All you have to do is let the

inspiration: Spring Inspiration and Positive Views (of a dream home). - 04/08/08 11:12 PM
I have always loved the idea of log homes. I guess it comes from a couple things. I grew up in a pioneer environment (the Rocky Mountains) and my first career job was working for the U.S. Forest Service (whose first office was a log cabin). I finally fulfilled my dream in 1978 by having the opportunity to build my own log home. I took six weeks off work, asked my brother, my grandfather, my father-in-law, and my father to help me with the opportunity. My brother and grandfather (who had retired and needed to be out from under my grandmother's

inspiration: Spring (time) Inspiration and Positive Views (news) - 04/07/08 09:58 PM
Guess what is happening in northeast Atlanta Georgia? It is spring and that means the pollen is changing the color of everyone's homes, vehicles, shoes, dark clothes, surfaces of everything including the local ponds. I was walking through a new home subdivision today and a tree across the way seemed to shake a little (reminded me of a dog shaking from head to tail) when the tree was just about blocked from my vision by a cloud of pollen. I am sorry that most people have the sinus trouble that it brings, but it is a very special time of year

inspiration: Spring Inspiration and Positive Views - 04/07/08 09:03 PM
Recently (happened to be in the early spring), one of the wonderful people I am learning about made a simple comment about the slogan I use in all my stuff. There is a story that goes along with the picture above I would like to share about the simple we make every day. I had not been in the real estate business very long (I was able to get started in March that year) and was looking at ways that I could gain a name for myself through advertising. Whille discussing different strategies, a friend of mine was with me at the time

inspiration: Rocky Mountain Spring Inspiration and Positive Views Unlimited - 04/03/08 08:40 PM
I had a dream last night about being in the Rocky Mountains. It is springtime and all creatures great and small, wise and wonderful, bright and beautiful, are just a few of the ways you can describe the wildlife you will see while you wander through the Rocky Mountains of North America. It never ceases to amaze me how diverse our incredible country really is. Have you ever walked around the corner of a mountain trail to find yourself gazing headlong into the eyes of a moose that knows the trail yoiu are now glued to is it's own trail and

inspiration: Spring Inspiration and Positive Views - 04/01/08 12:08 PM
After thinking about thie idea of being positive and inspiring in the way we live our lives, I was reminded about a couple of co-workers that I knew would like to be around each other. You see, they worked for different companies and yet were in the same business. I had met each of them seperately and because of their positive way of considering other people, I really enjoyed being around them. After working with them on a couple of deals and listening to others comment on how they enjoyed being around them, I did something I didn't think I would
