Do you recognize this face? No doubt you've seen photos of this face thousands of times, yet perhaps from a different perspective. It's my personal visit with the Lady.
This is the face of freedom, the face of liberty, the face of hope as millions of bright-eyed immigrants sailed into the harbor.
This is of course the face of Lady Liberty, the Statue of Liberty. This life size model is on display in the Statue's Museum on Liberty Island.
Early this a.m. the local morning showed the Statue of Liberty is opening today the crown for visitors for the first time since 9/11.
I took these photos last December on a cold blustery day while visiting New York City and of course a visit to the Statue of Liberty on Liberty Island.
We were in the "Big Apple? for a visit with family and friends including fellow Rainer Marlene Bridges to help celebrate my daughter's birthday. And of course the Statue of Liberty was high on our list for a visit. Yet for me this visit was from a different perspective, it was a very up close look at Lady Liberty.
Top left is the original 1886 torch which after many years of weathering was removed and preserved inside the island's museum.
Middle, is one of my favor photos that I shot from inside the processing center on Ellis Island. I can only imagine the thoughts of hope shared by millions arriving from across the seas. My own grandparents traveling with a 2-year old child in 1913 from Amsterdam Holland were among those looking for a better life in America, the land of opportunity. The Ellis Island website maintains a history of passenger records of those processed through the center. It's an amazing look back in time.
Right the full scale foot of Lady Liberty.
Without exception our visit was an experience of a lifetime for this proud immigrant's granddaughter. them if you like.
God Bless America the land that I love ~ Happy 4th and happy birthday birthday USA!

If you're a home buyer or a home seller it's essential you have an understanding of today's real estate market when it comes to market conditions in pricing and inventory.
For Home Buyers: It's important to begin the loan process in advance of your home search. Once approved you normally have greater strength in negotiating prices.
For Home Sellers: It's about positioning vs. pricing. Getting ahead of others is crucial for a timely sale. That's right, pricing ahead of the competition, including foreclosures/bank owned properties.

Alert OC ~ Alert Orange County has been rolled out to a wide range of cities in the County of Orange and Brea is one of them. The first test of the REVERSE 911 system takes place in the City of Brea on May 13!
The notification system is will alert OC residents in the event of an emergency or local concerns. It's FREE and can be activated on a city-wide regional basis or targeted for specific locations.
It's important to note that according to city representatives available "land-line" phone numbers have been automatically pre-loaded into the system. Yet how many of us now use our cell phones more often than a home number? I'm one of many that does just that. Therefore it's important to know multiple contact points are available.
You can edit your own info to add your cell number and or your business/work number into the system.
Most of us can remember it wasn't all that long ago that friends and neighbors were evacuated as a result of the local fires. This photo was taken in the front yard of my Brea home. Jeff Dowler posted this last week for anyone in or visiting in Southern California. It's an opportunity to attend REO 101 and REO 102 Classess for $99 each! Both sessions are a day long event packed with vital how to applications for today's challenging market.
If you are in the Southern California region, particularly San Diego, Riverside, Orange or San Bernardino Counties, you have an opportunity to become a BPO and REO expert.
Certainly our region has many REO homes for sales, and more coming, especially in the inland regions.
Knowing how to appropriately deal with these properties, and market them effectively, can help you grow your business
And perhaps you are also interested in learning how to actually hook up with folks who are looking for agent to manage these listings
Maybe you are already handling some REOs but know you could do a better job.
We have completed classes in San Dimas and Long Beach and are starting our next series in the Inland Empire in Murrieta. We are planning to offer REO 101 and REO 102 in Orange County next.
Classes are open to anyone (you do not have to be a member of the SoCal CRS Chapter or even a CRS, although many attendees are). But you will also learn more about the CRS designation and our Chapter.
REO 101 and REO 102 Classes
REO 101 focuses on learning how to do BPOs, how to obtain this business, and begins the discussion on REOs. It will be held on Wednesday May 6
REO 102 will be held on Wednesday May 27 and focuses on teaching you everything you need to know about managing REO listings
You can read more about what you will learn and how to register on our SoCal CRS Blog. The cost is only $99 for each class; classes run from 9 AM until approximately 5 PM.
