Enjoy a unique evening discovering the importance of jazz as an art form and the potential impact of music in communities and education when Nnenna Freelon and TS Monk come to CenterStage for "Music In Community." Freelon is a six-time Grammy Award-nominated jazz vocalist and international star. TS Monk is a drummer, composer, record company founder, band leader and the son of legendary jazz artist Thelonious Monk. 8 p.m. CenterStage at Reston Community Center $15 ($30/non-residents). New High School for Loudoun County Va - 09/29/11 03:46 PM
The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously, on Tuesday, to purchase land located at the National Converence Center in Landsdowne to be used for a new high school  in Loudon County , currently referred to as "HS-8".
The  school will be sited on  the 45.61 acre site.  The parcel is being purchased  from Oxford Capital Group LLC for $20 Million .  The school will serve students in the Ashburn and Landsdowne communities and is anticipated to open in the 2015-2016 school year.  The terms of purchase allow for a 120 day, due diligence period, which will allow the county to … (0 comments)

New Park and Ride in Loudoun County Va - 09/29/11 03:12 PM
Really  exciting news this week.  Wednesday was a ribbon cutting ceremony at the new Park and Ride lot.  It is located at Scott JenkinsMemorial Park, 39464 East Colonial Highway , east of Hamilton.
The Harmony Park and Ride is the first permanent county-owned parking lot in westen Loudoun County.  It serves carpoolers, vanpoolers and commuter bus riders.  Bicyclist who wish to carpool, vanpool or ride commuter buses are able to use the lockers or bike racks at this special facility.
The Harmony Park and Ride lot is also home to the county's pilot program featuring five electrical vechicle charging stations.  These … (0 comments)
