Pinecrest Art Demonstration - 09/09/10 11:53 AM
Pinecrest Art Demonstration for the Art Lover in all of us! On Sunday, September 12, the Miami Watercolor Society will be showing artwork done by Arthur Harrow. The show will run from 1:30 to 3:30pm at the Pinecrest Community Center, in Pinecrest Florida. They are having several demonstrations throughout the rest of the year. Check their webpage for all these dates. These showings are generally free. While at the Pinecrest Community Center, visit the library (oops it's closed on Sundays), so look at the beautiful architecture and visit Pinecrest Park while the admission is still free. Coral Gables First Friday is Art Walk Night! - 09/05/10 10:18 AM
There is a little known wonderful happening in Coral Gables the first Friday of every month. It's known as "First Friday Art Walk". It's an art walk centered around Coral Gables downtown, with all the galleries between Miracle Mile and Ponce de Leon Rd. During First Friday Art Walk, galleries in the area are open to the public with the Coral Gables free trolly providing transportation. Most of the galleries offer cheese and wine, and oftentimes some of the artists are even on hand to talk about their work..

Dog Park in Pinecrest, Florida - 09/02/10 10:16 AM
It's looking very good that The Village of Pinecrest will finally have a dog park. The Village of Palmetto Bay, a much younger municipality, has had a dog park for a couple of years now and it's a big draw for families with their kids and dogs. It's only appropieate that the residents of Pinecrest have one too. On Sept. 14th, the Village Council will have its last meeting to discuss the issue. The park would be located at Veterans Wayside Park on US 1. I think it's a perfect location for a dog park. Presently it's a park that is rarely visited. I

Why I believe Homeownership is still alive in Palmetto Bay and Pinecrest, Florida - 09/01/10 09:15 AM
The cover of this month's Time Magazine reads "Rethinking Homeownership". It goes on and on about foreclosures, walkaways, neighborhoods plagued by abandoned properties and its economic woes. I know that there is doom and gloom all over. The housing market isn't recovering anytime soon. It so much worse than any of us could have imagined, yet I still believe in homeownership. Although the article speaks truths about what has happened to homeownership in the past few years, I still truly believe that owning a home is so much better than renting one. I love my house that we bought in Palmetto
